Oct. 15, 2008 - How to Get Sick: Eat Grocery Store Produce and Processed Foods
Most pesticides are known carcinogens, and some of them pose as counterfeit versions of the female hormone estrogen. These xenoestrogens may promote cancer by stimulating estrogen receptors in the body.
Animal growth hormones are another cause for concern. They don't disappear after an animal is butchered, prepared for market, or cooked. They go right into our stomachs. Nor do they disappear from the milk of a cow treated with antibiotics. It is estimated that one glass of commercial, non-organic milk purchased from a grocery story may contain the residue of up to 100 different antibiotics!
Beyond the hormones that are injected directly into the animal, many of the meats we eat come from animals fed with antibiotic-laden feeds. Growth hormones in our food supply are even blamed for causing the abnormally early menses of young girls and for the overabundance of female hormones in young men. (Female hormones are given to milk cows to increase production.)
Hybridized foods are also unhealthy and could cause dangerous symptoms. God says to eat every seed-bearing plant after its own kind. Hybridized, seedless watermelons or grapes cannot reproduce, and they may not be the healthy food sources we think they are.

Jun. 21, 2008 - To medicate or not medicate
This has been a questions on a few of the "groups" that I belong to. My son was diagnosed with ADHD w/ impulsivity, when he was 18 months old. Had I known back then, what I know now. I would have NEVER given him medication. This is just for me and may not be for every one. I struggled with it, everyday. Do I medicate him or become insane!!! I have researched this in its entirety and have implemented all that I researched. My Son is 13, off all meds and very healthy and happy. NO Mood swings,, temper tantrums or staying up all night because he can not sleep. The secret is in the diet. If you would like more info on this I will send it to you personally. Just e-mail me. I am in the process of getting a degree to become a nutritionist. I know that people like to see the "degree" so they know you know what you are talking about.

Apr. 11, 2008 - Healthy Foods
Oats are a nutritious whole grain that can help to prevent heart disease and diabetes. Oats contain a special type of fiber that is called beta-glucan. Studies dating back over 40 years have consistently shown the beneficial effects of beta-glucan on cholesterol levels. In individuals with cholesterol above 220, consuming only 3 grams of soluble oat fiber per day (an amount found in one bowl of oatmeal) typically lowers total cholesterol by 8-23%. Each 1% drop in cholesterol equates to a 2% decrease in the risk of developing heart disease. Now that’s an easy way to take care of your heart.
Studies also show that beta-glucan has beneficial effects in diabetes as well. Type 2 diabetics who ate foods high in this type of oat fiber such as oatmeal or oat bran experienced much lower rises in blood sugar compared to those who were ate processed foods. Starting out your day with oats may make it easier to keep blood sugar levels under control the rest of the day, especially when the rest of your day is also includes other whole foods that are rich in fiber.
More recently, researchers from the Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging, Tufts University, Boston, report that oats may have another heart protective quality. Their findings were reported in The Journal of Nutrition, June 2007, and indicate that oats contain unique antioxidant compounds called avenanthramides. These special antioxidant compounds help prevent free radicals from damaging LDL cholesterol thereby reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease.
In another study also conducted at Tufts and published in the journal Atherosclerosis, researchers exposed human arterial wall cells to purified avenenthramides from oats for 24 hours, and found that these oat phenols significantly suppressed the production of several types of molecules which cause arteries to become clogged.
So I want all of you to start eating more oats. Having oatmeal for breakfast is the best way to have your oats each day - you can add some raisins, walnuts and honey to make it very delicious and even more nutritious.
