Mom assigned me a poem to write called a Haiku.
We are entering it into 4EverHisChild's Haiku contest.
Mom helped me yesterday in the van by teaching me what syllables are.
We counted the syllables in my name and other words.
We talked about poems and rhyming.
A Haiku is a Japanese Poem. Haiku's do not have to rhyme. They have 3 lines. The lines have 5 syllables, 7 syllables and 5 syllables.
I made a list of words about the snow, our goat kids and our new horses.
Mom helped me think of how to organize them into my Haiku.
Here is my Haiku:
Out in the Cold
Cold, icy, hard snow,
Goat kids jumping up and down,
Tall horses running.
You can enter the Contest, too.
There are 3 age categories and 3 different prizes.
Sincerely, Eric
