Your assignment this week is to write a psalm like the ones in the Bible, dedicated to God and how great he is. It could be about his power, or his mercies. Look in your Bible for inspiration, and perhaps try to encompass your favorite qualities about God in the Psalm.

The point is to be very descriptive, and as clear as you can in your directions. This is an exercise in communication!

It's time for your first writing challenge!

Writing Challenge #1: Seasonal Poems

Your assignment is to write a poem about your favorite season. You can use whatever poetry style you wish, and it can be as long as you want. Try to use descriptive adjectives to describe exactly what you like about that season.

Hello, and welcome to the Young Writers Lounge! Grab a cup of tea, pull up an easy chair, and make yourself comfortable. Our names are Kylie and Ashley. We started this blog because we both like to write, and we knew that other kids & teens liked to as well. Our goal in this blog is that you would be encouraged and perhaps improve in your writing. Each week we shall have a writing assignment, that will be fun, and hopefully challenging. We hope you will join us here!
