Maa' (Water) From Wells

Maa' (Water) : Water From Wells

Well water is underground and heavy. It rarely escapes rot and is not exposed to fresh air. One is advised to not drink such water until it has been exposed to air for at least a night.

Underground water that runs through lead-rich rock and also  unused wells are the worst type of water.

Maa' (Water) Freshness Standards

There are ten standards with which we test water's freshness:

(1) Its color should be crystal clear
(2) Should not have any odor at all
(3) Should be sweet and fresh tasting
(4) It should be light
(5) Sources should be pure, not be from stagnant source
(6) It is fresher the deeper or farther the source
(7) Should be exposed to wind and sun, not hidden under the earth
(8) Should be fast running
(9) Should be plentiful enough to help purify whatever impurities it might carry
(10) Source should be running from North to South or West to East

Maa' (Water)

"Water is the resource of life, the best drink there is, and on of the pillars of existence. Rather it is the most important pillar of life, as Allah has created every living thing from water."
