This is my entry to win a camera in the "Capture the Educational Moment" Contest sponsored by Spunky and Academic Superstore.
Last January, my 7-year-old daughter, who has autism, was playing with a popple (those toy bear-like-things that roll up into balls). Anyway, she was pulling the tail apart and saying it looked like a "Tula". I could tell she was thinking "Tulip" and I repeated it to her the right way "You're right, it does look like a tuliPPPP" (emphasizing the "P").
She looked at me very confused, and said "No, a TulAAAA" (like Duh, mom, get it right) . We had a short discussion about "Not a tula, it's a tuliPPP...PPP...PPP" again, emphasizing the "P" sound.
To which she gets this really matter-of-fact look and announces:
"No mom, TWO LIPS are for kissing".
