"Behind the Scenes" New Year's Eve
(I borrowed a camera for the pictures, so I had to wait for my copies before I posted)
How I spent my NEW YEAR'S EVE:
You've got to be REALLY careful with these...The wire that the computer triggers to launch the firework burns at a rate of 60 feet per second, and is about 3 feet long.
This is what the fireworks are launched from. The black bar laying in front of the green tubes is the computer panel that each firework was eventually connected to.
LATER THAT NIGHT:
The pyrotechnician sets off the fireworks from a safe distance of about 100 yards via computer.
Here is a close-up picture from where I was standing that night. The black circle is around the stand of green tubes you saw me help set up a few pictures earlier.
All these pictures were taken with the camera zoomed as wide as it could go...
I have decided this is definitely the way to watch a firework display!
I am a Christian homeschool mother of three daughters who believes ideals are like stars...Although I may never be able to reach them, I can use them to guide the direction of my life. Sharing the journey of my family through this blog has been put on hold during this trying season in our lives. Please pray for my daughters.
