June 2, 2006 - "Create in Me a Clean Heart" - A Devotional for the Disorganized!
YES! A DEVOTIONAL FOR THE DISORGANIZED!
We all have "those days", but for some of us, those days turn into weeks, months, or even years. This devotional is designed to take you through the year, offering hope, motivation, and insight for the struggle you're facing to be organized. Leaning of the Lord for direction all the way, this devotional will take you to the heart of your trials and lift your spirit. If you are someone who needs to have more oder in your life, than this devotional is for you!
INTRODUCTION
I began writing this when I was struggling with order in my own home. I had tried to get things back in order with schedules and routines, but I just couldn’t get it together. I’d read good books, tried many things, but I always wound up falling short. I would begin with a new attitude and get off to a great start, but after awhile, would get discouraged, fall behind, and eventually give up. I was missing something.
I cried out to the Lord many times to save me from my turmoil. He then gave me the heart to start jotting down my daily walk with Him. After several days I had my husband read them, and with his encouragement and support, and the Lord’s guidance, I continued writing daily.
What is written is what God led me to write. It was my source of help through my own disorganization, and my walk with Jesus. I am still not the most organized person, and on any given day, you can catch me lost in my laundry pile, but I grew closer to the Lord during the time of writing this, and it is only because of Him that this devotional was ever brought to you. I pray that in reading this, You will not only find yourself one step closer to being better organized, but, more importantly, that you will also be closer to the Lord in your walk with Him.
ENCOURAGEMENT TO THE READER
I have written these devotions with weeks in mind. It is important to remember that with this devotional, YOU ARE NEVER BEHIND! Meditate on the bible verse for a week as you work on getting things done. You may find Sunday is the best day to sit down and effectively do this. Then, throughout the rest of your week, pay close attention to the Lord speaking to you and guiding you. By meditating on and memorizing the scripture verses each week, they will be kept not only in your mind, but in your heart as well, to help you through the difficult times of frustration and discouragement.
Today is something you WILL finish! Look at what stands before you as something you’ll have great rewards from, and when it’s done, will have the satisfaction that YOU DID IT! I pray that this will be as helpful to you as it has been for me, and that you’ll find yourself anticipating this special time with the Lord. With all that in mind remember, you are a person of worth, and YOU CAN DO THIS! We are going to take it day by day, week by week, and as you go, you will see the “big picture” unfold, and God will reveal His plan for you. Lean on Him, and pray for guidance... He will direct your path!
Serving Him,
Amy Verlennich
