February 17, 2007 - WEEK 32: Pickin' Up the Pieces

The Lord upholds all who fall, and raises up all who are bowed down.   Psalm 145:14 (NKJV)

You are overwhelmed, and with everything piling up, you may be feeling as if the weight of the world is on top of you.  Maybe you feel as if you've fallen spiritually and aren't sure of how to get back up.

"The Lord upholds all who fall…"  He is like no other.  He is all-powerful and all knowing.  He is invincible and unstoppable; omnipotent.  He watches where you're going at all times, and carries you through.  He's there twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week; always.  He invests all His time in you.  He's never too busy.  All His thoughts and concerns are centered on your well being.  He is there to uphold you and give you strength.  He is there each and every time you fall… even now… and He will raise you up.

Before He does that though, He may want you to take a longer look to see how you fell to begin with.  Did things of this world get in the way?  When was the last time you just sat in His presence?  Have you gotten involved in one too many "good things" that took your time away with the Lord?  You can do all you want for Him, but only time with Him… in His word… will help you to keep from falling.

Yes, the Lord will pick you up, but don't forget to pray while you're down there.  It may be the very reason you've fallen in the first place.

Pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for being by my side and always looking out for my best interests.  I look to You for the answers.  Please help me to keep from stumbling and falling.  When I do, however, I pray that I would use that time to draw closer to You, and learn from the lessons You have for me.  Uphold me today Lord, and give me the strength that I need to stand tall and walk through my life with confidence in You.
In Jesus' name,
Amen.

Because of how life has been for me, I had to take time away... I have been trying to get things done, but unfortunately, the devotional posts haven't been a part of it yet. I'm slowly getting back to blogging, and the devotional will be the next thing to be posted again, as well as having it available to purchase to give to others or keep for yourself.

Bless your heart and home,
Amy
