Ben gets it right!
A good friend of mine spends much of his blog time bemoaning all the ways the Republicans are failing this country. Often he is so pessimistic it seems as though he has given up altogether and is just going to wait around until the end comes.
However, in this most important election year, Ben gets it right. Here is what he had to say today...
"Too much to lose... Yes, the Republicans anger me. Yes, Lindsey Graham, John McCain and that weirdo from Rhode Island are traitorous wretches. Yes, Bush has spent too much money, and tried too many servicemen, and failed to drop enough Daisey Cutters. But the questions remains: which political party would Usama bin Ladin prefer to control the U.S. Congress? Which political party would release all the current detainees in Gitmo? Which political party would turn Iraq over to radical Islamic fundamentalists? Which political party would negotiate with Iran? With North Korea? Which political party would leave our southern border open?
(Hint: their mascot is a jackass)
I will hold my nose and vote Republican yet again because protest votes reward conservatives with presidents like Clinton. I will vote Republican because Democrats can outspend any party, nation, drunken sailor, or pissed off woman on the face of the earth - and that's something! I will vote Republican because splitting the conservative block this year will position John McCain as the front runner in '08 (may he die of alcoholism)."
PLEASE VOTE REPUBLICAN! Trust me, Nancy Pelosi is not someone you want to know better.

My Blog

A few years ago, when our oldest was 4 and her two brothers were both in diapers, my in-laws were a few days into a visit from their home 3000 miles away when my father-in-law noticed that the rug under the dining room table was in serious need of vacuuming. He is not prone to domestic duties (his wife is a great housekeeper) but seeing the need, he decided to try his hand with the Hoover. As soon as 'Grandpa' declared his intention to get out the vacuum, four little feet ran for the toy box to get vacuums of their own. We had one toy vacuum and we improvised a second from a 'popper' push toy. The baby, who was not yet walking, was right in the thick of things on all fours, never one to be left out. Grandpa, trying to maneuver the self-propelled 'Wind-tunnel' around the 10 foot rug while avoiding the table legs and dodging his three little helpers, remarked in exasperation, "I just wanted to clean the rug, I wasn't looking to start a three ring circus." Welcome to my life!
About Me
My name is Tiffany. I am a 39 year old mother of 4. My husband, John, and I planned to homeschool even before we married 17 years ago but it would be several years before our oldest would be ready to start on this journey. We had our children in alphabetical order, quite by accident at first, but once we got started, we figured we had to keep it going. They are Alyssa 10, Brendan 8, Chase 6, and Emily 3. Our 4th baby, D, miscarried at 13 weeks. We have no intention of making it to Z.

Oct. 31, 2006 - Untitled Comment
Isn't it a riot. When I opened my issue of TOS and was looking through it I couldn't believe they had published my comment. I think it's just a great magazine and a wealth of information, especially for a first time homeschooler. I would definitely invest in some back issues if I could because they're fantastic.
I agree with this post. It would be great if we could truly form another party that would be taken seriously but until then choose the better of the two.
Thanks for stopping by,
Ruth
