I've Been Tagged
This isn't the first time I've been tagged but previous tags always required too much mental energy so I didn't play. This one is more my speed.
8 random facts about me:
1. I was such a towhead in my youth, when I went away to college in Texas, there were adults who would not believe my hair wasn't bleached. (Something to the effect that my hair color didn't exist in nature.)
2. I've never been inebriated but I once took enough cold medicine to make the room spin.
3. My children were named in alphabetical order.
4. I strongly dislike our pet cat.
5. I voted for Arnold but only to escape a worse fate had his opponent won.
6. One day while traveling back to our home in L.A., we stopped at a gas station just north of the city where the attendant had the gall to say, "You aren't from California are you?" Of course, I am from California but I happened to be wearing shorts that day (only because it was hot and we were traveling) and apparently she had never seen legs as white as mine.
7. When I was in high school, my grandmother gave me a bathing suit with a heavily padded top. She thought I could use the extra 'filler'. I never did.
8. A few days after Chase was born, we took him to church for the first time. While John was held up just inside the door by all the gawkers looking at the new baby, the kids and I walked into the sanctuary where we encountered the pastor. He interrupted his conversation with some first time visitors to say, "Are you still here?" It took me a second to register that he was unaware I had already given birth but when I did, I told him the baby was in the foyer. This would not have been so bad except he refused to believe me and insisted I was 'pulling his leg'. Ouch!
Those are my 8 random facts. I guess they read more like a list of most embarrassing moments but that is what came to mind.
We are neck deep in bed building at the moment so a real update will have to wait until next week.

My Blog
A few years ago, when our oldest was 4 and her two brothers were both in diapers, my in-laws were a few days into a visit from their home 3000 miles away when my father-in-law noticed that the rug under the dining room table was in serious need of vacuuming. He is not prone to domestic duties (his wife is a great housekeeper) but seeing the need, he decided to try his hand with the Hoover. As soon as 'Grandpa' declared his intention to get out the vacuum, four little feet ran for the toy box to get vacuums of their own. We had one toy vacuum and we improvised a second from a 'popper' push toy. The baby, who was not yet walking, was right in the thick of things on all fours, never one to be left out. Grandpa, trying to maneuver the self-propelled 'Wind-tunnel' around the 10 foot rug while avoiding the table legs and dodging his three little helpers, remarked in exasperation, "I just wanted to clean the rug, I wasn't looking to start a three ring circus." Welcome to my life!
About Me
My name is Tiffany. I am a 39 year old mother of 4. My husband, John, and I planned to homeschool even before we married 17 years ago but it would be several years before our oldest would be ready to start on this journey. We had our children in alphabetical order, quite by accident at first, but once we got started, we figured we had to keep it going. They are Alyssa 10, Brendan 8, Chase 6, and Emily 3. Our 4th baby, D, miscarried at 13 weeks. We have no intention of making it to Z.
