Tomorrow is Father's Day....
My Honey is such a wonderful Daddy. I can't imagine a better one!!
All that he is and has is for us, his family.
I remember when we were dating and he told me he wasn't sure he wanted to have children. You see, he didn't have the greatest growing up experience, so he thought the way to end the cycle was to not have children. I prayed alot during that time...for being a Mama was my next biggest goal to being a wife.
God answered my prayers and changed his heart. He was quite happy when we found out, together in our bathroom, that we were going to be blessed!!! He was my rock during labor and birth (and has been for every birth!). He stayed with me the entire time, right by my side, looking into my eyes, giving me strength.
On they way home from the birth center that night, he said, "That was incredible, let's do it again!" I whole heartedly agreed! Then he said that he'd like to have a dozen!! Yepper...he had certainly changed his mind about having children...he now feels that they way to change the cycle is to do it right...not to avoid doing it at all.
And do it right is exactly what he does. His children know that they are his world. He gives EVERYTHING to us, while giving up so much of his own desires.
He has always been completely honest with our children. They know if he tells them something, it's the truth. He doesn't think it's funny when other Dads tell their children fibs in the spirit of being funny. Cause it's not funny. Children look up to their Daddy...and if their Daddy does this, does he not think enough of them to tell them the truth?
He has taught our children well. If there is something they want to learn how to do, he encourages them to learn it. Thomas is quite the handy guy...and it's all due to Daddy. From the time Thomas could walk, he has been Daddy's shadow. So many jobs have taken three times as long just so Daddy could teach Thomas how to do it. Today, Thomas is a capable young man, able to do many things that I would venture to say some grown men don't know how to do.
He is a wonderful example to our girls of what their future spouses should be. Not that they need a man just like him...but he's shown them that they are treasured and adored....they won't be looking for that from someone else just to fill a void. For there is no void in that area!
I can't say enough about my Honey. He's my everything...and I know he's our children's everything as well.
So, Happy Father's Day, my Honey!!!!
What a sweet tribute to your husband. He sounds like a wonderful man.
