Actually, my third blogoversary was July 11th..but we were not home so I didn't post about it then....
I've been thinking all day about what I wanted to write in honor of this grand occasion...
What I came up with was to post the similarities of the online world and the real world....both the good and the bad....
Since I'm a positive person, I'll start with the good:
1. Just as in real life, there are some great people online
2, Just as in real life, wonderful friendships can be made
3. Just as in real life, folks share their hearts
4. Just as in real life, folks share the burdens of others
5. Just as in real life, folks pray for others
6. Just as in real life, folks encourage others
7. Just as in real life, bonds are formed
8. Just as in real life, children grow up
9. Just as in real life, keeping in touch is important
10. Just as in real life, an encouraging word is always welcomed
Now, for the bad....
1. Just as in real life, folks are not always as they seem
2. Just as in real life, folks hide who they really are
3. Just as in real life, folks can say (or post) things that really hurt
4. Just as in real life, you have to guard your heart
5. Just as in real life, there are bullies
6. Just as in real life, there are those who think they run the show
7. Just as in real life, there are those who say one thing but actually do another
8. Just as in real life, folks can and will let their bias show
9. Just as in real life, there are those who think they are holier than thou
10. Just as in real life, there are those who try in vain to project an image that is untrue
Here's what I have to say regarding the bad of the online world. It's most interesting to me that those who try so hard to project an image of themselves want so desperately for others to believe it are the furthest from that image. If you have to work hard to have an image, it must not be the true heart of yourself, your marriage or your family. Just be yourself. If yourself is so unappealing to yourself, work to make real changes within yourself, don't try to be who you are not.
And for the good things in the online world, I have met some incredible people here in the online world. I've even been blessed to meet some of them! And they turned out to be the same person I "met" online. What a blessing that is!!! To connect with others is a basic human need...to be able to do so online is such a neat thing! It also allows me to keep in touch with far away friends and family.
Blogging is a fun thing to do...and I do enjoy it. I hope that you have enjoyed the last three years of my ramblings....
Hi! Great post, and it is all true! Glad to know you're settled back into your routine, and sure wish you would move up this way!
