Abundant Blessings - Tuesday....is it a new week already?!

    Tuesday, July 22, 2008
Tuesday....is it a new week already?!

This schedule my Honey is working...it sure is for the birds! It's certainly not for a family....

I woke up this morning and couldn't remember what day it was...then I realized it was Tuesday. Then it hit me! Garbage day!!! I looked at the clock and saw it was 8:35...and the garbage man is usually here about 8. OOPS! I had five bags of trash to get out....and they sure needed to get out... :)
So, I dressed quickly and took the trash out, put it in Honey's truck and then decided it would be easier to just walk it to the end of the driveway. Now, our driveway is longer than most.....and a pretty good walk to the road. But, the bags weren't too heavy, so off I went.

I got about 1/3 of the way there when I saw the trash man coming....and going...right past our drive. We don't have county paid trash pickup here, we pay an individual who has a business of doing this. He got a little past our drive and stopped. Then he started backing up. I was thanking the Lord for wearing that pink shirt! That's what he noticed! He backed down our driveway and loaded the trash for me.

One thing I do love about living in the South is the way this man talked to me. He right away said "Good morning, Ma'am." He was sorry I had had to carry the trash as far as I had. Then told me to have a "Good day, Ma'am". Now, I know some ladies do not like being addressed that way. I happen to love it! No, it doesn't make me feel old. It makes me feel appreciated and respected. (Just as it does when my children say Yes, Ma'am to me!).

Once I came back inside, I was too awake to go back to sleep, so I started my day. Honey slept till about 9:15, then the children followed. It sounds so incredibly late when we begin our day these days. Normally, at 9:15, my Honey would have been working for over 4 hours! But, when he works this 3pm to midnight shift, there's no getting up at 3:30am like we used to.

Thankfully, next week will be the end of this madness and we can go back to being early morning people again.

Our realtor is coming over on Thursday. We've talked about selling our farm and moving. Not sure where we'd move to...we have some ideas...but not even totally sure we're going to move yet. The realtor will come and give us some idea of what we could reasonably sell our farm for...and what areas we need to work on before listing it for sale. It's a scary and exciting process to be thinking of moving again. We'd both like to be closer to a bigger town. There's not alot of prospects job wise here. There's also not alot of prospects church wise. Or shopping wise. It would be nice to have some things more accessible...but at the same time, I love living in the middle of nowhere. But even here in nowhere, crime is happening. Theft happens...even right next door to us!

Tomorrow Honey goes to the Dr. I'm going along...he likes me to go with him...just as I like for him to go with me. I remember the first time we went together...it was to a dermatologist for Honey...the Dr couldn't believe he wanted me in the room while he was being examined. He told her that I have seen his entire body, there was nothing new for me!  I also remember the time I had a pilonital cyst on my tailbone. (oh my....I had just given birth about 2 weeks prior...and let me tell you, I'd give birth all over again to not have to experience that pain again!). When we met with the surgeon, Honey was in the room with me. Thankfully, he was there...my cyst had burst that morning and it was nasty! When I went to put on the gown, the bandage came off...and that nasty  was all over the floor. My sweet Honey cleaned that up...and helped me onto the table. When the surgeon came in, she asked "Is he staying?" I said, oh yes, cause if he doesn't you aren't touching me!
It was a good thing he did stay...cause she HURT me bad!!! It was only because Honey was there by my head, consoling me and telling me it was okay that she was able to do her deed.

    Anyhow...my I do ramble sometimes...

I'm taking a pup with me on the way to the Dr's. I sure hope the woman who is planning to meet me to buy him shows up!! I wouldn't normally sell a pup this way, but she lives an hour and a half from here, so I made an exception.

The heat of summer is here. I shouldn't complain...by this time last year, we were in an extreme drought and were close to losing water for two weeks. The heat of last summer was incredibly awful. Yesterday, the thermometer said 100*. Today was close...but we had a bit of rain, so it cooled off some. Have I mentioned how much I hate the heat?! I'm ready for fall NOW!!!

Guess that's enough of my ramblings for tonight....I'm off to find something worth watching on tv while waiting for my Honey. Or maybe I'll work on a special online project of mine... Have a blessed evening!

Ardmore is really convenient to Madison, Huntsville, & Athens :) That is about the only condition upon which I will accept a move from you, Missy. Anywho, or Montana...with us...someday.

    Hope to see you soon,

You Act Like You Are 24 Years Old
You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel like an adult, and you're optimistic about life.
You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.

You're still figuring out your place in the world and how you want your life to shape up.
The world is full of possibilities, and you can't wait to explore many of them.
