I love all things fall and winter...so when the opportunity came to have a chance at reviewing The Old Schoolhouse store's new book, Homespun Holidays, Fall and Winter, I jumped at it and sent my name in. How happy was I when I received an e-mail with the link to the e-book to review it!
Let me start out by saying the cover alone makes me long for fall and winter! This book is filled with recipes, crafts, and how to's. But, it's oh so much more than that! It's also sprinkled just so with personal stories. Where the recipes or special celebrations originated. It gives such a personal feel to it. It feels as if you're talking with a friend.
My favorite ideas were the Shepherd's supper and the Thanksgiving Bulletin Board. Oooh! And I can see new outside decorations in our next celebration with the Candy Land instructions!
The recipe for Mountain Cookies has my mouth watering...can't wait till it cools off and we can bake up a batch!
I especially loved that all of the recipes are in printable form at the end of the book. This makes it so easy to thumb through just the recipes to find the one in particular you'd like to try.
I give this book a huge thumbs up! I'm so thankful for the opportunity to review this book...and you should most definitely get your own copy! I'm ready for the holidays NOW!!!
