The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security. — Such has been the patient sufferance of these Colonies; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former Systems of Government. The history of the present King of Great Britain is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world. He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good. He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them. He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only. He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their Public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures. He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people. He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause others to be elected, whereby the Legislative Powers, incapable of Annihilation, have returned to the People at large for their exercise; the State remaining in the mean time exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within. He has endeavoured to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new Appropriations of Lands. He has obstructed the Administration of Justice by refusing his Assent to Laws for establishing Judiciary Powers. He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries. He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people and eat out their substance. He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures. He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil Power. He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation: For quartering large bodies of armed troops among us: For protecting them, by a mock Trial from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States: For cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world: For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent: For depriving us in many cases, of the benefit of Trial by Jury: For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences: For abolishing the free System of English Laws in a neighbouring Province, establishing therein an Arbitrary government, and enlarging its Boundaries so as to render it at once an example and fit instrument for introducing the same absolute rule into these Colonies For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments: For suspending our own Legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever. He has abdicated Government here, by declaring us out of his Protection and waging War against us. He has plundered our seas, ravaged our coasts, burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people. He is at this time transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to compleat the works of death, desolation, and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of Cruelty & Perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the Head of a civilized nation. He has constrained our fellow Citizens taken Captive on the high Seas to bear Arms against their Country, to become the executioners of their friends and Brethren, or to fall themselves by their Hands. He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions. In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people. Nor have We been wanting in attentions to our British brethren. We have warned them from time to time of attempts by their legislature to extend an unwarrantable jurisdiction over us. We have reminded them of the circumstances of our emigration and settlement here. We have appealed to their native justice and magnanimity, and we have conjured them by the ties of our common kindred to disavow these usurpations, which would inevitably interrupt our connections and correspondence. They too have been deaf to the voice of justice and of consanguinity. We must, therefore, acquiesce in the necessity, which denounces our Separation, and hold them, as we hold the rest of mankind, Enemies in War, in Peace Friends. We, therefore, the Representatives of the united States of America, in General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the Name, and by Authority of the good People of these Colonies, solemnly publish and declare, That these united Colonies are, and of Right ought to be Free and Independent States, that they are Absolved from all Allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political connection between them and the State of Great Britain, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as Free and Independent States, they have full Power to levy War, conclude Peace, contract Alliances, establish Commerce, and to do all other Acts and Things which Independent States may of right do. — And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor. Ok, I have been down right awful about updating this week. I am so sorry. I do have an excuse though. We have been busy. Busy living and enjoying our children. There has been some crazy weeds in the garden. Lawn to mow, flower beds to work on. Kids to play with and Baby to cuddle. We are getting ready for the Sabbath and the 4th today. Aaron just left of a call, and the kids are all asleep so I though I would at least show you all what we did this last weekend. I married into a WONDERFUl family, who loves to get together. This last weekend was the family camp out, Aaron's granparents, Aunts and Uncles (and Mom and dad) and his sister and their wonderful family. The kids has so much fun and played hard! Clara called the cousions "her kids" or "those cousions" and had such a fun time last weekend and also on Wednesday. we all got some sun, and the kids have been sleeping hard this week. Its been rather nice! We usually dont get to sleep in. We have early risers. ![]() Just a little tid bit: Did you know that the founding fathes of this nation predicted that we would celebrate the birth of our nation with fireworks? Pretty amazing huh? We are having Grandma and Papa down for a BBQ and fireworks tomorrow after church. We are looking forward to a restful Sabbath and good food. How you all have a wonderful 4th, remembering what this country was founded on, and what we can do to honor those who sacerficed, and still sacerfice for this great nation we call home. ![]() We traided the boat and trailer for a new project for Aaron. A couple weeks ago I read a post from a blog I like to read and it got me thinking. She writes down a quick note about each day, she isn't a slave to it, but tries to write down the highlights and happenings with their family. The kids are growing and changing so much, and I want to be able to remember the goofy, sweet and down right cute things they do. Also their milestones. You guys, our wonderful family and friends might also like to read about it a bit more. *big smile* I am going to try posting a quick post in the evenings every day but the Sabbath, I will make a more detailed one on Sunday. I am going to use the basic format I found in the previous posts, but add a little to it. Here is todays: ![]() Today's Weather is.... perfect! weeded in the garden and the girls played in the mud. Outside my window..... Skeeters! They are just awful this evening. The girls all them teetoes. I am thinking about..... My nice clean kitchen! I am reading..... Bible, and a poem book to the girls. I'm Glad~ author unknown I'm glad the sky is painted blue, And the earth is painted green, With such a lot of nice fresh air All snadwiched in between. I am thankful for... My family. Clara and her kisses (lots lots lots kisses) Flora and her goofy personality and Andrew and his smiles. From the kitchen ... Dishwasher is running and my kitchen is CLEAN! Baked potatoes and the fixings and green beans for dinner. Cute things the kids did..... On a not so cute note: Andrew is on a nap strike. He doesnt want to miss a thing. He also figured out how to crawl out the door! Flora was supper cuddly and willing to do what ever today, you would ask her to so something and she would say "ok!!!!!!!! I do it!" Clara ate all of her dinner and came over to me and said "thems good mama!" I am going...... Camping this weekend with family! Yahoo! I am hoping..... That the chickens start laying soon. We have 3 people who want eggs! I am hearing...... The girls running around and giggling. They have reached the overly silly stage right before bed! Silly girls! We have welcomed into our family a new dog. We have been talking about getting another dog for a while, since Neio got hit by a car this winter. The main reason we wanted to is because Flora is afraid of big dogs. This has happened after Bow, who is still very much a puppy, knocked her down a couple times. So we got to thinking...maybe we need to adopt another puppy so she can grow with it....getting used to size and such. We did this with Clara and Bow, and the bond between Clara and Bow is strong. We decided we didnt want to deal with a puppy, the training and hypperness. So we started talking a mid size, older dog. Something that Flora isnt afraid of. I was on craigslist.org looking at the pets and ran across Millie. We went up to meet her and see how Flora did and she is perfect! Flora loves her and Millie is great with the kids. Her before-family had 2 young kids one with a disability, so she is VERY paitent and loving. She wants to be where ever her kids are. We tucked the girls into bed one night to find she had snuck in and make herself at home on Clara's bed. ![]() She is almost 8 years old and is a little on the plump side. Love to go for car rides, infact thinks that when ever the car leaves she should be in it. Even for Aaron's calls. Loves cushy thing, and will be more then happy to take the couch if she sneaks inside. Which she is also good at (she is suppost to stay out side!). Most importantly, Flora loves her and give her lots of kisses and hugs! Success! Garden pictures coming soon! |

Last weekend we paid my mom for a visit. My sister and I have been planning this since her winter break back in December. She had NO idea. A ton of people knew about it, and not one person slipped. Thanks you all! We left on Friday morning when Aaron got off at 6. Drove to her work and just dropped in. :D Here is a bit of her reaction. (see side bar I can't figure out how to get it in the post) Needless to say we had a great weekend and drove back home on Monday. This week we have been catching up on sleep, laundry and garden/house work! I am possitive when we leave some where, our laundry breeds..... So, Mom...Happy Mother's Day/Birthday once again! We love you so much and are looking forward to wonderful summer visits. Clara still is saying she needs to go swimming with you! Hope you are having a great day! We have been enjoying playing outside in the wonderful spring weather. While the coming of spring means play time outside for the girls, it also means a lot of work for Mama and Daddy. Here is a few pictures of the children, and also what Aaron spent his day doing. No pictures of me working...not very flattering. I mowed, transplanted, weeded and played with the kids. Tomorrow I am attaching my small strawberry patch and getting my potatoes planted. I have been working on my herb garden and its coming along nicely! I am so excited. I love watching things grow and am looking forward to having a HUGE garden is year....now for what you all come here for ........ I am one happy woman.... Tada! ![]() Freshly stained! And to make the day even better....window boxes! ![]() Now all is needed are some flowers! I am so thankful for my hard working husband. Here are some pictures of fun with Animals. Our neighbor (also the Post Office Lady) has donkeys and lamas. We went a few days ago to meet them. Clara had a blast, while Flora liked then from a distance! ![]() ![]() And Andrew! ![]() Little girls and chickens are a perfect match! The chickens are pretty friendy, and the girls have so much fun trying to get them! Perfect I tell you. They sleep so well after a day of playing out side and with their chickens! ![]() ![]() The sores on her chin are an Impetago infection. Bot the girls have it (Clara's is small and on her cheek under the bandaid), and we are trying not to pass it to Mama and Dada, and most important, brother! We got some ointment from the doctor and have noticed a huge difference! Even after just a few hours of using it. Until next time! Amber |
