last nights game
Our team of first year players have broken a two year losing streak. I'll start at last Monday we met at the school to Go over a video of last weeks game which we lost horribly. At the end of the video session coach told us that our starting center left the team. I know there are a few people who read my blog that don't know anything about football so I will explain what a center does. A center is the core of the offence (the team that has the ball.) The center hands the ball to the quarterback who then hands the ball to the running backs or throws to the wide receiver. Well guess who got to fill his position.
With only two days of practice in our new positions our team took to the field ready to play. The first quarter the opposing team got the first touchdown. Well things started to look like the game would go like our other two UNTIL we got a touchdown. The other team fumbled and we recovered we got another touchdown from that point on we never fell behind. The second and third quarters went well both of the teams kind of went back and forth with touchdowns.
The fourth quarter was horrible I was center and the guy who gave me no problems the entire game suddenly stepped up and ran me over four times and facemasked me a few times which led to my nerves just going haywire and I started to do things that they had been telling me not to do the entire week. But let me redeem myself the guy across from me was probably 220 lbs I'm only 180 lbs. So you can see that I was at a little disadvantage. We won the game 58 to 42 so we broke the losing streak and replenished the moral of our team |
