Aiming High

Description

In all I am, do, and will write, my aim is to hit God's mark. I will have moments of being misguided as I am not perfect, but know that I serve a God that loves me through it all.

It's Getting Way Too Old Up Here

We were supposed to go spend the weekend at my in-laws this past weekend. Actually, we were supposed to be there the previous weekend for Christmas. But, alas, the pass over the mountains has left us immobile due to hazardous driving conditions. It resulted in an unexpected quiet Christmas at home and, with Plan B canceled for the same reasons the following weekend, an unexpected long New Year's weekend at home also.

And, as much as this is going to sound selfish, I am giddy with glee. No, I am not happy we didn't get to see the relatives over the holidays. We were ALL disappointed. But, the result has been home organization! The ENTIRE New Year's Weekend my husband has blessed me with pockets of time to organize my MOUNDS of paperwork, books and clutter piles of "I'll get to that later" stuff.

Let's just say, I've been SO far behind in this type of organization that I've been in survival mode for almost a year now. The piles and gunk in my head have meshed into a mound of glue in my thinking skills and has left me in robot-mode. My husband has, bless his heart, decided to take the matter into his hands. Not only has he been giving as much of his time to take over as much of my home responsibilities as he can in the last couple of days, he gave me a really cool Christmas gift.

It is some sort of computer organization program designed specifically to keep track of paperwork and projects, etc. Now, mind you, I probably won't use it as I am a books and paper and files and binders type person, but wasn't it a nice thought? However, he suspected I wouldn't use it, so bought the organizational book the computer program is based on as an alternative option. You think he might want his wife back? You think?

You bet I sat up most of Christmas Day and into that night and read the entire organizational book. I didn't even glance at the computer program. That dear husband of mine went out and shopped on Sunday and got all the supplies...labeler, ream of paper, pens, clips, paper clips, folders... And, I've been pulling piles and boxes of junk out of all their hiding spots, making lists, and digging in. I'm a little brain-fried.

All that to say, I have found many slips of paper in which I wrote blog entry ideas on. This one is a cute one:

It is dated August 27, 2007. That would put my Beautiful just about a month away from turning six years old. She was sitting at the dining room table writing out her numbers as far as she could go. She got to the number 56 and said, and I quote, "It's getting way too old up here!" She busily went back to writing more numbers. When she got to 72, she exclaimed, "Way too old! You might need a cane up here!"

Budump, bump! Ching!

Happy New Year, Y'all!!

Many Blessings,

Holly
