Oct. 29, 2009 Latest Goings On!
Hello, to everybody out there!
Here, listed below, is an as accurate as possible account of my latest adventures, and the things God is doing for me.
First of all, I was endowed with an absolutely interestingly weird, crazy, helpful, wonderful, amazing pair of glasses. My new glasses look like purple-tinted sunglasses. They have no prescription power at all, as the optometrist says, "Plain-0." 0 meaning zero power, or correction. They are lenses tinted purple to help with my Scotopic Light Sensitivity, a symptom of Oculomotor Dysfunction, another thing we are working on. I am also getting blue-grey plain-0 lenses put into sunglasses clips. Today we also went to the eye doctor, and she said that we are doing good for this being the first official week of Vision Therapy. Last week I found out, with the help of my new glasses, that sunsets with briliant gold on the bottom and blue on the top did not have green in the middle! I didn't realize it was green, but it sure was! And clouds have shadows underneath now. I can tell colors apart too (I guess I couldn't really do that before), and there's no "Lazer Lemon" (Crayola marker color) over everything when I have my glasses on! I can actually see white as what I am now percieving as true white, instead of muddy yellow snow. And, I found out that the carpet in our church's Junior/Earliteen Sabbath School Room is orangey-brown, instead of a wierd golden yellow. And a certain shade of green that used to make me really edgy is now very pretty to me, and I can comfortably be around people wearing it.
That's the big news for right now!

P.S. Check out the Y.D. Series "The Power of Prayer," It's powerful!
P.P.S. Check out http://irlen.com/distortioneffects.php , I have all but "Rivers" and "Swirl" without my glasses, if I remember correctly. |

I guess it probably looks like I've abandoned blog, right?
Well, I haven't completely abandoned it. I have just been busy.
Lately I've: Had Writing Classes with Hildegard, I also discovered a Homeschool Writing Contest website. This page has lots of contests, and is made especially for homeschool kids!
Our family has also decided we are transferring our membership to a different church. The girls in Juniors/Earliteen are all very nice. I really like them.
I got Blokus for Christmas and it is really fun.
I also have been improving my drawing lately.

Sorry, I haven't blogged for a while. I have been so busy that I have forgotten blogging.
Anyways, Yesterday I finished my second babysitting job, for the same people. This time though, I watched the baby too. I got paid TWELVE Dollars! (because I watched the baby too.) The mama got the kitchen totally clean, and a few other things too! I am so glad I can be a really big help!
About the kittens: Today Samuel went to our friends house to live and R (the girl getting the kitten) will love him a whole lot! Last Monday another friend got Jonathan. We are keeping David and Goliath. Abigail needs a home though.
Got to go,

Jun. 8, 2008 My First Babysitting Job
I just finished my first babysitting job. Well, it wasn't really babysitting, it was more like distracting the children and keeping them out of the way. The mom needed to do some housework, so I took care of her six year old son and younger daughter. I brought a "Surprise bag" with felt puppets, coloring books, crayons, and story books. The stories were a big hit. The younger girl almost fell asleep in my lap when I was reading to the two of them. We also played with the boy's balls and the girl's dolls. I think we all had fun.
When the mom was took me back home, she wrote a check to mom so she could pay me. The check was for TEN DOLLARS! I was shocked, and so was mom, 10 dollars is a whole lot to pay an inexperienced 11 year old girl for just 2 hours!
I had fun though,

Oct. 5, 2007 My " mad libs " achievments
I have been enjoying the Mad Libs puzzle books that you can get at stores. Mama got me the 40th anniversary one and a Jumbo collection one. I really enjoy them. I just recently made a few myself and this is the funniest one. I read it to the family and they went up in gales of laughter! I would suggest printing out the page or having someone who will not try the puzzle copy it on paper. Here is how to do it.
If you want to do this Mad Libs by yourself then skip step 1 go on to step 2.
The steps for all have # before them. The steps for partners have ** before them and the steps for a single puzzler have ^ before them.
1.Get a partner that can either write or knows there parts of speech. It depends on if you want to do filling in the blanks or calling out the parts of speech.
2.** Decide who will call out the parts of speech and who will write them down. When that is settled the writer will sit and face the other partner with a book on one side so the opposite partner cannot see through the paper. The Person who writes will call out the part of speech that the is named bellow the blank. Example: Writer reads it was a _________ . the writer calls out "Noun" and the partner replies
"Tree" Noun
^ The single player would just fill out the blanks Without looking at the story. I have provided lines bellow the instructions that have what parts of speech you would need and you can put a a word that is in that category of speech. They are in the same order as in the story so you just need to look at it and copy it in the blanks Without Looking at the story! You could get an adult to do it for you if you are afraid that you are going to peek too.
3. Follow the instructions in step two until you are done! Then read your funny story! It will probably be funny but not make sence. That is ok, it is supposed to be like that.

Oct. 4, 2007 Our New Kitten
Forest and I got a kitten. She is really cute and we name her Curry Cat or CeCe for short! She is about 7 and one half weeks old and her mama was a barn cat. She is soft and usually cuddly though sometimes she is very very playful. I love her a lot and she likes Forest and I too. She likes to chase balls and sleep in my arms too.
I think she will be a very good mouser though we can't tell yet! We are hoping that Hunter our four year old cat will like her but that hasn't happened yet! He usually hisses when he sees our kitten. I think the cat that lives next door has influenced him to be mean. I think the neighbor cat even scratches him because there have been cat fights between the two a lot. The cats name is Poky and he is fat and slow thus giving him the name Poky. |
