Sep. 24, 2008 - Hot Night

My last completed project, which also happened to be my first pair of longies for the season, was "Hot night".  Hot night is made from 3-ply, 100 purewool.  3-ply purewool is amazingly soft, yet (in my opinion) wears much better than the single ply.  With matching trim and a cute, fully functional cargo pocket, these would make a great addition to some little guys Fall/Winter wardrobe!  Hot Night is available to purchase on our cart now (http://hyenacart.com/AdventureKnits/)!

Jul. 29, 2008 - Drumroll please......

I could go on and on about how fabulous and spectacular these shorties are.  I could tell you how great they go with Nathan's brown shirts, his navy blue shirts, his baby blue shirts, his light blue shirts, and yes, his white shirts too.  I could tell you about how handsome he looks in them......BUT I know you've been waiting..... so without any further adieu, dyed by Leidy at Western Sky Knits, HERE is DUDE!!!

And that wraps up Nathan's summer shortie stash.  I've been contemplating listing ONE custom spot, to help fund a new carseat for my growing boy, but I'm still undecided since we have SO much to do in preserving our garden harvest!  I'll be sure to let you know......

Jul. 14, 2008 - Camo!

Whew!  Finally done with Camo!  With everything going on around here I was starting to wonder if I would be able to finish these up in time for Nathan to get some use out of them this summer! LOL!  The shorties got done fairly quickly since I had some decent driving (riding) time to work on them, but no kidding, it took me 4 days just to get the drawstring completed!

I can't say I've saved the best for last, because honestly I just love everything I've gotten from Western Sky Knits!  I CAN say that I'm now VERY excited to start "Dude" by Leidy!  I meant to take a picture of the Dude yarn when I took the one of the shorties, but since I forgot I guess you'll just have to wait to see!!

Let me just tell you....I have GREAT motivation to finish them up quickly ;-)

Jul. 3, 2008 - Another one done!

YAY!  I'm finally feeling like I'm ready for the warm weather.....and just in time it seems!  We have another hot week forecasted here.

This is Kimberly's "At the Zoo" all knit up.

Now I'll be starting on my last colorway from Kim, a custom "Camo".  After that I'll wrap up Nathan's summer shortie stash with the fantastically boyish, "Dude", dyed by Leidy, who is also from Western Sky Knits!  Made up of the sweetest, most talented dyeing trio I know,  Western Sky has quickly become one of my favorite work-at-home-momma yarn places to shop on the web!

Jun. 27, 2008 - And my first choice was.....

Looking through the shorties that I had done already, I found that I had two of the greens/browns, and only one pair in blues.  Because of that I started with the colorway on the bottom right, which is called, "Kenai".  If you liked that one while it was in the cake, I think you'll *really* like it now!!  Check out Kenai!!

Now I'll be working on "At the Zoo", which is the one on the bottom left =)

Jun. 23, 2008 - What a day!

Today turned out to be a pretty good day on the knitting front!  When I finished up Canadian Forests I knew it would be a bit before I had anymore yarn to use for Nathan's shorties.  We had some van time coming up and I needed *something* to work on so I dug through my stash of instock yarn and grabbed out a gender neutral colorway.  I started it on my spare set of needles, and figured that I would just set it aside once my yarn showed up.

Guess what?  My yarn showed up today!  It's beautiful and I couldn't wait to get started, but now I was SO very close to being done with this pair of shorties that I couldn't see stashing it away for the next couple of months as I worked on others.  Having these gorgeous yarns sitting before me was the perfect motivation to push through and finish up quickly, so I took some extra knitting time this afternoon and the result is a medium pair of 3ply merino shorties in the "Grove" colorway.

I'll be placing these for sale on our Hyena Cart later this week.  They are very possibly going to be the last pair of shorties offered by Adventure Knits this season.

So what was I waiting on?  Just lookie at some of the beautiful works from Western Sky!  These three were dyed by Kimberly.

Now my dilemma is, which one do I start with?!

Jun. 22, 2008 - Pair number three!

Canadian Forests!

This cool, "Northwoods" colorway was dyed by Brad at Wooly Wonders By Nada.

Now I'm waiting on four SUPER colorways from Western Sky Knits so I can finish up Nathan's summer wardrobe!  I'll be sure to share pictures when I get the yarn =)

Jun. 10, 2008 - Two down!

Nathan's first two pair of shorties are done!  Now I only have.....oh....5 or 6 to go!  Do you think I'll make it before Fall hits

This pair is called "Foresta".  The yarn was custom dyed by the fabulous Kimberly of Western Sky Knits.  I told her what I was hoping for in colors and this is what I got.  It's PERFECT!

The next pair I finished was "Charming Sea".  This colorway was picked by my husband and I LOVE it!!

Now on the needles is "Canadian Forests".  Stay tuned

May. 31, 2008 - My last custom

.....for awhile anyway.  I finished up these two pair of shorties for my super-customer, Sabrina!

I have been blessed to be able to knit for her sweet son since he was tiny!  It's been so fun to continue knitting for him as he grows.  I told her that it feels as if I have been knitting for one of my own!  Especially since she shares his adorable pictures with me

Now I'll be busy knitting up a shortie stash for Nathan!
