Computer Programing

Posted in Show and Tell Friday

I have seen a lot of people doing Show and Tell Friday, and I finally decided to give it a try myself (oooooh, scary!!!). I don't know if I will do this every week or not, but I will today.

My show and tell is much different than everyone else's, I'm sure! Here's the picture:

"What in the world?" you ask. Just hold on -- I will explain. For computer programming in school I am doing doing Computer Science Pure and Simple. There are two books. Right now I am still in Book 1. You use MicroWorlds Logo Software, which is a computer program designed to teach kids computer programing. You learn simple commands like "forward", "back", "right", "left", and so-on, that you can use to create programs with.

The picture that I showed is an assignment. One of the lessons in the book is to design and build a skyscraper using the software. It took me a while, but I did it! You can't see it in the picture, but I also had a button you could click on to make it draw the skyscraper. Programming can be very fun, but it is also very crucial to get everything perfect. If I would have missed ONE command on the skycraper pictured above, it would look very different. Or there might not be a skycraper at all!

Show and Tell is hosted by CanadaGirl. If you would like to participate, just go to her blog and read the requirements.

I think it's so cool that you play the violin. I really like your new avatar.:-D I have been playing for 6 1/2 years and I give violin lessons. I was doing the Suzuki, Etling, and String biulder books before we moved and I was at the end of the fourth book in Suzuki. And if you do thoses books you know what a big accompilshment that is. I haven't been able to get a new teacher and I would really like to continue playing Classical. But I also like playing fiddle tunes, Jazz, Country, Well, basicly anything.
I used to be in a orchestra, youth orchestra and a quartet. I really miss it and would LOVE to go back to it, but there isn't anything like that were we live now.
So now you have to tell me about you! :-D
What's your favorite song to play?
Have a blessed day,
Sarah

Thanks for your comment and for stopping by. I know what you mean about how time limits. I don't want one, but I know it would be best.

Well, I mostly edit HSB's templates. I haven't even tried to do one from scratch, but I'm thinking about it.

About the Kingdom Series: It depends on what kind of books you like to read. There is some sword-fighting, but other than that there is not much action in the book. I myself am a fantasy fan, so I am enjoying them a lot, although they are more medieval type than fantasy. They are not as easy to read as some books, and the vocabulary is a little advanced. Also, they use some sword-fighting terms that you may want to look up. As for the conversation, it really depends on which book you are reading. In some of them they are in first person, and there is not as much conversation, but with the others in 3rd person then there is a tad more. It is like an allegory, and there are a lot of Biblical truths that you can draw from them.

Wow, that was a lot! I'm considering doing a review for it on my blog sometime.

TTYL!

P.S. ~ I like that skyscraper! Very nice.

I can't even imagine what it takes to make something like that by using commands. I'm always amazed at people's blog templates too. I bet someday you will have one of the fancy blogs too. Just keep at it!
