Did I Read That Correctly?

Posted in Scientific Saturday

First of all, before I get into what this post is really about, I would like to say a big "Happy Birthday!" to my now eight-year-old sister, Elisabeth! Like I posted about yesterday, please go over to her blog and leave her a comment. She would really like that! Thanks!

I came across the following paragraph on the internet several days ago. The article was talking about how sleep works. One paragraph said:

"For any animal living in the wild, it just doesn't seem very smart to design in a mandatory eight-hour period of near-total unconsciousness every day. Yet that is exactly what evolution has done. So there must be a pretty good reason for it!"

Um, excuse me? Let me get this straight. Evolution is what supposedly brought all life into existence. According to the theory, it did this all by random, accidental mistakes. But this article says that since random mistakes designed something, there must be a good reason for it! Are you thinking this through with me? Does it make any sense?? No. It does NOT make any sense at all. It all comes down to something that I posted a few weeks ago, which I entitled "Confronted With the Evidence" (if you have not read that post, please do). Does anyone have anything else to add? Comment away!

Happy birthday to your sister!

RYC: You found my blog verse! :-) Actually my blog title is based on a chapter in the book Angels in the Architecture by Douglas Wilson and Douglas Jones, which is based on Piers Plowman, which is based on that verse in Psalms. Make sense? Clear as mud? :-)

Blessings,
Mandy

I love the way your blog looks. I've been thinking about three colums myself. Eveything is centered perfectly too! Very nice.

Have a blessed day,
Sarah

Yes, I do believe that jewlery is wrong. It covers up the real you God made. Some people worry too much about their looks.
Jezebel was the one in the Bible who "painted her face" (put on make-up). So why would people today, especially Christians want to follow Jezebel's example?
I believe it makes God sad to see even some of His people not accepting the way they are. He made their face that way because He wanted it that way.
But you may believe differently. :-) I realize that, and am not trying to start a "fight".
Any way, was it Betsy who had a bday? Tell her "Happy Birthday" for me! Or, I guess I can go to her blog and say (or I should say write) it to her!
Thankyou for your comment on my blog!

That's funny!! Strange how they can so purposefully overlook the evidence...
Thanks for the comment--I fixed it so there's two other options if the first font doesn't show up. It's not what I'd prefer, but it works. Thanks for the advice!
