My “really cool, very awesome, fabulous ship” (I took one of my mom’s suggestions and drew this, because I already knew what yours was going to be):

At least five dead words not on the worksheet: small, loud, huge, funny looking, cool, normal, terrible
Describe my bedroom: As you walk in the door to the bedroom that I share with my sister, the first thing you might notice is the window on the far wall. The blinds are open, letting plenty of natural light into the room. In front of the window is an old square computer desk. The desk has a bunch of stuff piled up neatly along the edge, but out of the way of the work area. To the left of the desk are a trashcan and a bookshelf, but the bookshelf is hidden behind an open closet door. An empty plastic hanger hangs from the doorknob. On the other side of the room is the set of bunk beds. The bed on the bottom is nicely made, but the bed on the top is a mess. The walls are adorned with all kind of things, from calendars to plaques to pictures. The floor is cluttered with articles of clothing and my sister’s belongings. An oatmeal container has fallen on its side with the lid off, and the contents, about three different colors of yarn, have spilled out onto the floor. Needless to say, someone should do some cleaning soon!
Ummm, I think I overdid it a bit… LOL.

"Your new piano teacher is here!" Charity's mother announced. Charity felt like crying. She sat up stiffly on the sofa. The door opened, and the new piano teacher walked into the room.
"Hello, I'm Mrs. McGillicuddy!" The lady said.
"Hi," Charity mumbled. She blushed under the teacher's gaze and quickly looked back down into her lap. She clasped and unclasped her white hands repeatedly.
"Well, let's hear you play something!" Mrs. McGillicuddy suggested.
Charity looked up at the piano teacher, and then at her mother as her eyes filled with tears. She bit her lip and swallowed hard. "Mama, I... I..." She swallowed again. Trembling, she slowly stood up and walked over to the piano.

Charity Thompson is an average-height ten-year-old only child with light skin and long curly black hair which she usually has her mother pull back partly and tie with her favorite red ribbon. She is very truthful and most of the time she's pretty obedient, but she tends to be sloppy and undependable at times. Her room is almost always a mess, and she hates cleaning it. In her mind, it is a waste of time since in two days it will be messy again, anyway. She does enjoy helping her mother in the kitchen and with the housework, however.
Charity is shy and quiet when she's uncomfortable or around people she doesn't know well, so she hates piano recitals. That doesn't mean she hates playing the piano, though. She practices almost every day (and she is good at it, partly because she has such long fingers), but Charity hates the minimum amount of time she must sit at the piano and play the "hard parts" over and over again.
She does have her lively side, though. Charity works hard in school, even though she would rather be writing to her best friends that live across the country. She's also very adventurous and loves large, very strong animals such as big horses or elephants. She hates bugs or reptiles, though, so she is glad she has no brothers to tease her with them.
BTW, Mrs. Marlow, no, Charity is not a character in an upcoming story or series, unless I get some great idea. I could've done the character sketch on Kate Dunlap, but for some reason that didn't even cross my mind. Oh, well.

Character: Charity Thompson
Physical traits: Ten years old, medium height, with light skin color; long fingers (great for playing the piano), and long, curly black hair, usually partly pulled back and tied with a red ribbon; an only child.
Personality Traits: Obedient and truthful, but shy and withdrawn at times; appears quiet to those that don't know her well, but adventurous and lively when surrounded with good friends. However, she is often quite sloppy and undependable.
Likes/Dislikes: Loves playing the piano, but hates practicing for a set amount of time; enjoys working in the kitchen with her mother and helping around the house, but dislikes having to clean her room; can't stand bugs or reptiles, but surprisingly loves big, strong animals such as elephants or large horses; doesn't usually find her studies objectionable, but most of the time would rather be doing something else, such as writing to a friend.

I really liked Sherlock Jones (The Odyssey Mystery). Sherlock has an amazing brain, but he is not boastful or proud of it. He can memorize books of the Bible in mere days, and once won a chess tournament within only several days of learning the game! Sherlock is sometimes too sure of himself and gets himself and Penny (the main character) into difficult or even dangerous situations, but he uses his brain to solve mysteries and save lives! Sherlock is also a good Christian and a good friend to Penny.
My least favorite character is Demas (The Golden Lamps). Demas is selfish and does not realize that the King’s work must be his highest priority. He would rather get wealth, riches, and comfort than work for the King. In his own mind, he is the most important person, and for the most part he doesn’t care if what he is doing is hurting other people. Demas was killed in the end of the book because of his disobedience, but I like the bad guys because without them the story would not be so exciting!
