I know.. long time, no write... I have been extremely busy with school and havent updated this blog...So whats been going on? Tell me... leave a comment... I see yall haven't missed me... no messages... no comments... yea I see how it is
Anywho... so I've been a part time college student at CSU. I've been studing Christian Leadership, which is a course on the ethics and theology of leadership in Christian perspective. It's been interesting.... being the only student in the classroom under age 18. Despite the technical terms and the confusing principles, its actually an interesting and inspiring subject. I think it's because leadership is kinda a new thing for me. As yall know, Ive only been a Christian for about 2 years. And I never worked on my self confidence untill this past January. Then during this past summer, I was an EROC intern and learned so much about how we as Christians need to take leadership everyday in everything we do. And then this class just topped it off.
And now I'm beginning to learn about what real leadership is and how important leadership is in real life. What do you think of when you hear the word leadership? Do you think of a manager of a big business or do you think of a president or dictator of a nation? Both are not leaders. In order to know what leadership is, the first thing you need to know is that leadership and management are two different things and there is no in between. Leaders inspire and encourage others to reach the goal; managers make others reach the goal in order to make a bigger profit.
Another debatable subject is a top leader born or taught? I believe that while everyone has the capability of great leadership through Christ, top leadership skills are to be born with. Now what is a top leader? That's a whole other subject... but just see it as a great leader (think Billy Grahm type leader) But my point is that you can't make a bass guitar play a 6 string guitar solo. Meaning God ment for you to be a level 3 leader, then you dont have the resources to become a top leader. Not that God favors others more than you, God just has a bigger plan for you where you are right now. Granted, if God wants a level one or zero leader to become a top leader, then it will be done. But my point is that top leadership is God-given, you can't learn it from reading Bob Gates newest book. All of those "Become a Great Leader in less than 60 min" books are bogus. Top leadership is God given, whether you are a Christian or not. Remember that God apoints all leaders, whether they know it or not.
So why am I filling your head with my theology of leadership? Because I think leadership is an important quality that every Christian needs. God made that point in Judges 1:6; For you are the ones I have called to lead this nation. The fact is that we live in a fallen generation. Just stepping outside your door and existing in this world takes leadership to decide for yourself what is the right from the wrong. Our world loves the things we should hate. "This generation is smitten with smut" as Jentezen Franklin. We should be angry at the things that make God angry. I know some people find it funny when God's name is used as a cuss word, not that they say it or find joy in saying it... but hearing it makes them laugh. But the bible clearly states that blasphemy is a sin against God. Another thing is, if they are Christians and they find it funny that their God's name is being used as a cuss word, then why would other people around them become Christians? At every moment we are being watched (yes I know.. creepy); at every moment we are witnessing for Christ.
We as Christians should live to glorify God in everything we do. Not just because we are witnessing to our corrupt world, but also because its how we obey and worship God. (Romans 12:1) Whether you believe it or not, God has called us all to be leaders for our generation. So many people complain about how evil our world has gotten, but yet not enough Christians are willing to stand up and act on it. There will always be something to complain about, but complaining never brings change. We are the change in this world. We are the ones who need to stand up against this generation and say this isn't the right way, but here I'll show you God's way. Not because we are suck ups who paint little Mrs. Mable's fence down the street, but because we are simply different from this world. Three Days Grace (yes I know they aren't Christians... yet) has a song called "One X", and its one of my favorite songs by them because its talking about how we are the ones who need to "stand above the crowd".They have the right idea we all need to have! We need to stand out because we ARE different and this generation needs to see that!
So many teens have problems because they feel as if they don't fit in with the rest of the world. But why be like everyone else, when God created us to be different? Plus its so much more fun being different! I love the fact that I am different than everyone around me, and that there will never be another person who has the same life story as I will. But so many people believe that only certain people can lead or that they aren't capable of leading. But the truth is that God has called each and everyone of us to lead our world. We together can be the change that this world is so desperate for.
Hope this inspired some of yall!
