A little birdie told me....
|
I did not realize that that phrase came from the Bible!! Ecclesiastes 10:20 (NLT) Never make light of the king, even in your thoughts. And don't make fun of a rich man, either. A little bird may tell them what you have said. (!!!!!LOL!!!!!)
I have been reading and meditating on Ecc. the past few days. It actually helps me overcome my depression. The conclusion of Ecclesiastes: Fear God and keep His commands. So despite the fact that everything (material) is meaningless, God wants us to enjoy our lives. That is done the best when in relationship with Him. "For who can eat or enjoy anything apart from Him?"

I am currently studying Ecclesiastes as well. I haven't gotten to the 10th chapter, though. That's really neat to know that saying is in the Bible.

Thansk for the comment left on my blog. My mother died March of 2007. My father died about 5 months prior. It has been a rough couple of years dealing with cancers with both of them, pregnancy, and moving with hubby and a new baby back to my home town to help out with my parents and their failing health.
I will be praying for you this Mother's Day. It is hard when everyone is being so "hallmark" about the holiday and I am missing mine so much, and I am sure you are feeling the same if you were close to your mother.
Thanks again!
God's Blessings,
Amy Jo
