This is one of my daily struggles as my children and I enjoy the local parks and nature. They love to pick leaves and flowers off as I yell at them to please "let them live!!"

Now the bugs do not get crushed as much. My children are prone to run away or glance at them from a safe distance, or poke at them with sticks.

These thoughts were prompted by this quote I just saw from another blog:

"Teaching a child not to step on a caterpillar is as valuable to the child as it is to the caterpillar."

Now that makes sense to me!!
