The Lady
Gabrielle is brilliant, beautiful, talented, sweet and good, yet marvellously humble. Haha... No. Let's try that again...
Gabrielle has a wicked sense of humour and far too much pride for her own good. She loves to write, and has spent a good portion of her life buried in books. She loves old English literature, anything Tolkien, and well-written humour.
She loves blogging, fanfiction, and spends a good portion of her day on her computer. Pretty active, she enjoys climbing, swimming, running, and sitting up trees, yet does not enjoy most ball sports.
At sixteen, she is still far more immature than she should be and enjoys the fact far too much, yet she can be serious at times and ponders deeply on many issues. She takes her faith very seriously, and strives to make becoming like her Lord her greatest wish.
She enjoys talking about herself in the third person.

Dol Amroth
Dol Amroth was a coastal city in South Gondor. Built on a hilltop overlooking the Bay of Belfalas and crowned by Tirith Aear - the seaward tower - it was the Jewel of the Southern coasts. The Princes of Dol Amroth were prominent in Gondor and ruled much of the land about Belfalas.

Dol Amroth was the home of both sailors and mounted knights, yet they were also renowned for their harpists. The people of Dol Amroth were of Numenorian decent, and also accounted to have had elvish blood - passed down from Mithrellas, one of Nimrodel of Lothlorien's handmaidens. They were tall, dark haired and grey eyed, and spoke, for the most part, Sindarin.

Prince Imrahil of Dol Amroth fought in the battle of the Pelennor Fields with many of his knights, and won renown for his deeds there, which included saving the life of his nephew, Faramir. Imrahil's sister, Finduilas, was the wife of Denethor, Steward of Gondor, and the mother of Boromir and Faramir. Imrahil's daughter, Lothiriel, later married King Eomer of Rohan.

Jul. 6, 2008 - Reasons, otherwise known as excuses
| This is just a note to inform you all that I won't be posting much for another couple of weeks. Firstly because I'm housesitting my Uncle and Aunties flat for a week; Secondly because I have Hometime to post out to all my subscribers; Thirdly because I have a list as long as my house in wide of people who's comments I need to return, and I'm trying to catch up with all my long neglected friends before I begin rambling about myself again; Fourthly because it's school holidays here and I have things to go to every other day; Fifthly because my sister's eleventh birthday father-daughter ball celebration is in two weeks, and I'm busy trying to cook and bake and clean and arrange for it; Sixthly because my house is getting carpeted and all the furniture is being moved all around the house and more often than not I can't even find the computer; Seventhly because my template still isn't working properly and I haven't the time to figure out how to fix it; Eighthly because I'm overtired for the aforementioned reasons, which leads to silly and incoherent posts in which I make a fool of myself; Ninthly because I have been involved in several intrigues here and have several bloggers wanting my head, and need to give their tempers a bit of time to cool off; Tenthly because I don't feel like it; and Eleventhly... well, there is no eleventh reason, partly because my spell checker informs me that eleventhly is not a word, and partly because I have been interrupted so many times I've forgotten the other reasons. But I think you get the idea, anyhow.
Edit: Aha! I have discovered the eleventh reason. Because my macbook has taken a disliking to HSB and refuses to insert spaces in my post, so my posts come out as an unreadable block of eye-soreness. |

Goodness! Thats a lot of stuff to do!!!!
My mac does exactly the same thing. Firefox works the best with HSB on the mac if you don't have it, but Safari simply despises it. I'm having to put the paragraph break code where I want to skip lines, and its this: ( ) if you want it.
I was wondering what happened to you. Well, at least you are alive and ...well, semi-functioning. :~)

Jul. 7, 2008 - My Three Reasons
Posted by
VintageAuthoress |
Firstly, like ElvisMaiden14 has pointed out, you need to use Firefox.
Secondly, don't think this will stop me from getting you back!
Thirdly, I wasn't trying to get back at you when I tagged you, I was simply giving you a reason to have to update, so Mwahahaha! *laughs evilly*

Greetings from Hemlock!
My name is Capitola, well that is the name I go by. I found your blog from Ness's. Anyways, I added you as a friend, just wanted you to know who I was, or something like that. Maybe I just wanted to say hi. Or maybe I just wanted to say I added you so you would know. Okay, it is a little of all of the above.

Dear Altariel,
I love you, and I completely understand why you are taking a break from blogging. I read a list of eleven reasons, not excuses. (That was actually a very enjoyable post to read. You have great talent for writing something and giving it a humorous air.)
*laughs* The four comments you gave me just made my day. Thank you so much! I now owe you one super-huge comment that will blow all the rest away. However, I'm going to wait until you get back, so that you don't feel any pressure whatsoever to comment me back.
I think 'eleventhly' deserves a special place in the dictionary. It's a beautiful word. I will try and use it sometime. *wink*
Love you!

The times has come.
Today all debts, great and small, shall be fulfilled and struck from the record! Today wrong shall be made right! Today Altariel shall cry tears of joy at the sight of such a lusciously long comment on her post!
*sighs contentedly*
Actually, now that I've gotten here, I really don't know what to say. You see, it's actually you who owes me an email.
Nevertheless.
How is the weather in New Zealand?
I can't imagine a more boring subject of conversation. Let's see. How is your summer? Are you through housesitting at your Aunt and Uncle's? Because you must know we're all eager to have you back around HSB. Fred has been asking for you, you know!
I'm still planning my wonderful surprise for you *grin*. Unfortunately I don't have as much time as I would like...or maybe it's just laziness? Probably both. I'm quite well known for the latter. Perhaps it'll be a Christmas present... :-D
Alas, what has become of the long comment of my dreams? I'm afraid this is woefully inadequate. Still...perhaps it will inspire you to comment, email, or spam back. Take your pick!
Love,
~Beth

Oh, wonderful--you finally got the "Post Comment" link up! *throws confetti*
You have no idea how much patience I have been exercising of late (and on a random note, I just realized that I can't spell "exercising" for the life of me. At least I couldn't, until I went to write it just then and spelled it perfectly. I spent about two minutes attempting to make the little red squiggle disappear under the first one...). But yes, I have been quite patient...up until now. Perhaps your letter was shot down en route by Fred's relations? I suppose I shall just have to sit here eating chocolate (which I have managed to make last all this time) until it comes. What a sad life, isn't it?
Oh! I find it perfectly hilarious that you have seen the Annie Moses Band in concert--what a strange thought. At camp I almost asked Alex whether they would be heading to NZ, for your sake... ;-) They're quite good, aren't they?
Yes, I've done NaNoWriMo...hm, for some I reason I thought you knew. It is rather difficult and frustrating at times, but to be forced to complete a project in 30 days and actually doing it is well worth it. I imagine it would have taken me a year to complete the first draft otherwise. Actually, I did not write an ACWCHBWoF. My NaNo '07 project was draft #1 of The Blade Unbroken--so you see, I do condescend to think about other things. *smile* Are you thinking of doing it this year? You should check out the blog Cherise set up for HSB wrimos. It's /nanowrimogroup. You'll have to join in simply because all of us will be having so much fun over there without you. :-)
Oh, the Rean-Hammon blend--I almost forgot! Actually Katie posted a link to it on her blog, so I imagine it was not quite as infuriating as she would like you to believe. Of course we all know the truth... *wink* Poor Flora! She'll just have to find someone else, since Rean-Hammon is taken...
Now. About your article in Hometime...
*pauses to eat a pineapple lump, as a reminder to be sweet*
It was quite well-written, I'll grant you that.
But where is the representation for us poor Yankees? You have forgotten to make mention of all the evidence to support our take on things...or perhaps it's all a conspiracy ;-). Now all your poor readers will be misguided Rebels. You simply must examine the other side as well--you should write a sequel! There we have it. You don't need to agree with the viewpoint; just acknowledge its existence. I shall say no more!
Ah, the pineapple lumps did the trick...
Well, I believe that brings this comment to a close. I am eager to here more about this ball of your sister's--sounds to me as if there should be a picture or two to go along with it *hint, hint*. I'll talk to you soon,
Love,
~Beth |
