Simple Woman's Daybook

  For Today: July 14
Outside my window
....is sunny, mid 70's.
I am thinking...that I have gotten alot done today so far.
I am thankful for...my husband cleaning the kitchen for me today. Actually he does this most days. When he was off work last year this became his chore, now he just does it because he knows I hate doing the dishes. Lucky Me!!
From the learning rooms...we are taking a summer break.

From the kitchen...this weeks menu:

  • Chili
  • Grill, baked potatoe, veggies
  • Roast w/potatoes and carrots
  • Beef Stew (made from leftover roast/veggies)
  • Spaghetti or Lazagna
  • Taco's
  • Fratata (just learned how to make these, love them)

  • I am creating...a farm. O.k., I've kind of gotten hooked on "Farm Town" through facebook. I'm warning you, STAY AWAY!! It's very addicting.
I am going...today is my day off, but will take Violet to swimming lessons, maybe even to the library.
I am reading...a Sherlock Holms story, can't remember the name and too lazy to go get it. It's taking me forever because I only really get to read while Violet is at her swimming lessons.
    I am hoping...for a productive week.
I am hearing...the hummm of the computer.
Around the house...I am getting lots of cooking done today: spicy pumpkin muffins, granola, a HUGE pot of chili (starting with dry beans of course), freezing cherries (35 lbs worth). Also catching up on laundry and doing some decluttering in our bedroom.

In the yard...just watching the grass grow taller and taller. We actually picked a cherry tomatoe this morning. Hoping to have enough sun reach our tomatoe and pumpkin plants. Fingers crossed...
One of my favorite things...going to yardsales, I'm finding lots of good things, but only buying a few things.
A few plans for the rest of the week: We have swimming lesson everyday for the next few weeks, work, library, visit with daughter and son-in-law, maybe some yardsales, a birthday party, bible studies, getting a room or two painted, picking up this weeks produce and fresh farm eggs....
