She's Engaged!!!

Posted in Family

I came home from Bible class last to dd-19 and her boyfriend, who told me they were getting married. Actually dd hemmed and hawed for about 15 minutes till she got it out. Then we went to talk to husband, who just kept talking and making conversation so that fiance couldn't get a word in. (he could actually go on for hours). Finally fiance was ablet to ask. Of course we've known this was going to happen for quite a while.

So....how do you do a cheap wedding??

I think I can help here but I hope your dd doesn't faint!

She could have an outdoor wedding and have people bring a picnic lunch. I know someone who did that.

My wedding dress was actually a prom dress on discount. No kidding: it was $30! And we're near prom time so right after would be a great time to look around. So it was in 1990.
Another idea would be to find a seamstress. Getting a dress that way could still be less expensive than going to a bridal shop.

And congratulations - you're going to be a MIL!!

Wow!!! That's big news. When's the wedding? My husband & I had a pretty inexpensive wedding, but it could have been even cheaper. First, don't invite anyone - that cuts the cost dramatically. lol We only had a few guests. Then don't have it catered. We did and that was the big $. My mom was very miffed that we didn't have it at her church where the church ladies brought all the food for free - but I didn't want the usual ham buns & jello. lol Perhaps borrow the wedding gown. And I don't know if you have one of these around, but my friend has a U-Pick Wildflower place, so if she got married in-season, the flowers could be really inexpensive. Otherwise, I know then I got married 15 yrs. ago, it was very vogue to just carry one flower wrapped in tulle (very inexpensive fabric too). Just my 2 cents (you can apply it to the wedding expenses. lol) Blessings & ((Hugs))
