included in this kit are the materials and instructions to make a fleece hat, the materials to put together a weather nature study themed lapbook (which among other things includes a pocket-sized winter nature journal) an artist notebooking page, a 4"x6" winter scene art print, a worksheet discussing cool colors, the instructions and papers for a cool color crayon resist night scene and the materials and instructions to make Sculpey bug thumbtacks.

I can't wait to get mine. They said it is intended to be used for 6-12year old. Go check it out.

Friends, cards, and clean house.....

Posted in Crafts

.......that all equals up to last Friday. Every once in a while I will invite a bunch of ladies from our congregation to stamp. There are about9 or 10 of us who like to do this. But first I had to clean my house, the real reason for inviting others over. My husband always just cracks me up. Everytime I get the house really clean, he wants to know whos coming over. Maybe I just did it for him. Of course, then I do have to fess up and tell him who......he knows me so well.

Anywho.....my dd-18 always says this, Hee hee.  There were five of us with five kids, one mother brought four. We always have lots of good eats: chicken and homemade noodle soup, brownies (this is a must), just lots of snacking. I did manage to get 11 cards made.....want to see them? Sorry, haven't figured out how to do that yet.

Hope everyone has a great Monday........

My craftiness for the month...

Posted in Crafts

I have a few things I need to start working on for gifts this x-mas, figure I might as well get started this month.

  • Crochet dishclothes- I made some for the women in my family two years ago. When I visited with my sister this summer, she said she needed more and would like them to be off white, appearently the color ones do bleed. So I went to Walmart and got a large cone of cotton yarn for under $6. So far I have made 10 and I believe I still have enough to make 3 or 4 more. I'll probably split them between my sister, mom and myself.
  • Afghan- working on one for my s-i-l. I made 3 last year, one for my mom, dh's mom, and dh's stepmom. Now it's time to start working on my sister and in-laws.
  • Ladybug crochet purse for niece. I'm halfway done.

I would be really happy if I get these done this month. I'm usually waiting till the last minute, then I have to go out and buy something.

What are you working on???
