Oct. 9, 2006 - Blog Break

Yes, I am going to take a short (hopefully) break. I have some things that I really need to take care of right now. I feel that if I am not getting everything accomplished (whether it be spiritual or physical) one of the first things to go at this point would be blogging.

Although I really don't spend very much time blogging, I am thinking it about often (hmmm, what should I blog about today).

So I am off for a short break. I will be checking in on my friends once in while though :-)

Enjoy, your break, I pray you get lots accomplished with your time , that the Lord would order your days :-)

I have some big projects I really need to start working on to prepare for baby, if I can fit in the blogging I will but if not then that's OK too :-)

Hugs~

Hope the break helps you to focus and accomplish the things you need to have done.

Enjoy your break. Sometimes I would like to take a break, but I love writing about our day. Sometimes I do take a break from visiting other blogs though.

As for your dd reading. My son has said the same things many times and I have felt so bad for him. Especially since his younger sister can read better then he can.

We started Saxon Intervention and are on lesson 13. He is reading better, I don't know if it's becuase of Saxon or things are finally clicking. Both Josh and Annette enjoy using Saxon Phonics Intervention. What are you currently using for phonics/reading? What words is she struggling with? Is she forgetting when to use the silent e, or when a vowel is long or short?

I too feel like I am failing my son in this area and sometimes wonder if he would be reading better if I sent him to school. Not good thinking I know, but to be honest it's at the back of my mind. But then if Annette can read........

Feel free to email me at beltran4christ@yahoo.com.

It's good to take a break once in a while. I took one this summer. I didn't post very often, I had so much to do I just didn't have time. You're right, it's one of those things that are at the bottom of the priority list! I enjoy blogging, when I have time and this winter hopfully I'll be able to post every day again!
Have a wonderful break!

I think you will be pleased with Saxon. It is worth the money too.I had to let it go because I just can't keep up with two Phonic prgrams.
I also think that Saxon Phonics Intervention was too much for my kiddos, I should have gotton the 1st grade one like you. That way all the information is spread out.
My kids enjoyed Saxon Intervention and I know they learned from it. Just that I bought the wrong level.

Yes, sometimes I overwhelm myself with all that I want to teach my kids.
Blessings,
