A's work to date 7/26/07
Okay I'm more on the ball today. I showed the girls the page and they liked it. FQ liked seeing his sister's picture on the screen.

Well I only have A's work from the last 2 weeks. Her assignments haven't been as elaborate as K's since she is doing LA 2 Intermediate. However, she has had a few longer writing projects. Maybe we have gotten to the part in the program where the assignments are a little longer.
Last week's assignment was to retell a story--any story. So A decided to re-tell the Goldilocks story. We tried to adhere to SL's "eight sentence" rule.
Goldilocks and the Three Bears (written July 19, 2007)
Once upon a time, there were 3 bears--a big father one, a middle sized mother one, and a wee little baby one. The mother bear made some porridge and put it in bowls, but it was too hot and they couldn't eat it. The bears went on a walk and while they were walking, a girl named Goldilocks came into the house. She was hungry and ate some of the bears' porridge. She went upstairs, sat in some chairs, and broke one chair. She was tired, so she found some beds, laid in them and fell asleep. The bears came home and saw the eaten food and broken chair. They found Goldilocks, but she woke up and ran away.
This week's assignment was to pick someone from our history readings and write a little article about them. A tried to adhere to eight sentences but she got a little carried away.
Ben Franklin (written July 26, 2007)
Ben wanted to be a sailor. He did lots of things for the people. He went to Philadelphia and helped those people too. Wherever he went, he helped those people too. Ben helped people by doing electricity for the people in England. Ben and Amos helped Sophia and Madame Brillon to help Sophia's children and husband. And since Ben wanted to be a sailor, he never got seasick on a ship. Once he was on a ship, someone was overboard and Ben saved him before he sank. Ben Franklin started the first library in America. He invented the Franklin stove. He got money and food for the American army and invented the lightning rod.
That's A's work so far. She has a notebook that she has written many stories in. She has over 50 chapters that she has written. She is quite a writer!!!
