Beef Butchering

My husband had the boys help him butcher a cow on Saturday. I'll spare you the picture of the cow hanging with its throat slit.  Here are some pictures of the boys taking the skin off.

I could say "Ewwww!"..but actually it's kind of cool...not to mention, I'm a bit envious of all those steaks I see there. :-) I'm glad you spared us the other pic...My imagination alone is going wild with that one. :-)

OK. I just barely glossed over that. (I couldn't look.)

We have cows, but I disappear or close the blinds and don't go outside when the man comes to do the deed. The cows are my friends. A good experience for your son though, no doubt, helps mature him. Good for him.
