Our Easter Surprise

Posted in Daily Life

I stepped out on my front steps this afternoon to be greeted by the sight of our cat nursing five brand new kittens. She had given birth to them on a pile of clippings left under the holly bush. This is her second litter and, just like last time, there are three white and two grey kittens. We aren't sure if they were born last night or this morning, but since I was an Easter baby myself, that is my vote.

SnowWhite and her kittens

Here is SnowWhite as she looked when I first found her.

And here are the kittens. The third white one rolled out of the "nest" when its mama stood up, so it didn't get to be in the "group photo."

We quickly made up a box and put it under the bush for them and Mama cat moved them in right away. I'm sure those old holly leaves were  pretty uncomfortable.

April 18, 2009 - How cute!

It seems like not long ago when she had her first litter.

BTW if you go with "Jewish" time, Easter began at Sundown on Saturday, so they'd be "Easter" kittens according to Jewish customs. :-) Just trying to give you a little "help." ha ha

Very cute. :-)

As a side-note, I do love your MOH1 mini-books. :-)

I just found out from your comments on Valerie's blog that you're pregnant, too. I'm so excited for all of you! My "last" baby is now 8 months old. I put "last" in quotation marks because she's the latest, but I never know if I'll have another or not. I'm up to 10 now, and I'm getting up in age a bit, but God is in charge of that, so we'll see what He does. He's Lord of my life and Lord of my womb! I pray that God gives you a quick, easy delivery with no complications.

Love,
Penney
