Madison's Musings

Jul. 25, 2007 - The rest of the story...

OK, if you want to know what happened before this then read below. Thanks:

OK, so here's the rest of the story... when we left my Grandma's we went to Myrtle Beach, but before we did we stopped by the house to drop Mom off since she said she wanted to stay out of that one. But she might come later that week. So we went, and we traveled for about 2-4 hours. We went into the camping grounds with high hearts about being back so soon. So we got all of the stuff out, settled in, and had a nice lunch of sanwitches. (For the 4th time!!!) Then after that we decided that it was time to go to bed. So that morning when we woke up Dad wanted us to go to the beach so it took us a little while to get the sun screen on...about 30 minutes or so. Then we had some trouble getting all of the beach stuff there since we were walking the whole time but thank goodness that the beach wasn't to far. But far enough to make me take the bikes next time...so when we got there we were met by a strong current and some nice waves. About 2 times the size of the ones that we usually get. So we had the boogie boards and we were trying to catch some waves. And when we (Austin and I) were trying to catch the same wave we woujld try and get ahead of the other person so that we could go farther. And we would always say who won by going the farthest. Sometimes the current was so strong that I met the beach a few times when I caught the wave! It was fun, but don't you hate it when you get sand EVERYWHERE!!!! Plus the stickyness of being in the ocean...I don't think I would've gone if they didn't have showers before you left. So when we did leave we would pack up our stuff and go back to the camper. Then we would change and go to the showers. WEll the showers were sorta a dissappointment because the first one had just enough water to be my favorite (But it wasn't hard at all). Then the second one was missing the head to where it just was a jet of water coming out...then the third one you had to have it near to your head just to get the water past the first layer of hair! Not good for someone who has thick hair like me. So yeah, I used the first one the first time then I decided to use the second one and then I decided that I actually liked how rough the second one was so then I was the one always in the 2nd shower...so yeah, a couple of days later Mom decided to come down and camp with us. When we were waiting I decided to go and take a bike ride.

Well Mom agreed to call Dad when she was there in the parking lot so she could be picked up by him. Since we only had room for 1 car in the drivway where we camped (Not that it's like a driveway..). ANd the funny thing is that when I decided to start going back to the camper I saw that Dad was going somewhere with the truck then I instantly knew that Mom was here and he was going to pick her up. So knowing that I would be there before him I decided to go and meet Mom before Dad. So I dashed up the hills and I speed up as fast as I could to go see Mom. When I did she was talking with the park ranger and she said "Well there's one of them!" then Dad was close behind...so he helped her with her bags and they went off down the isle. I waited for them to come...I was outside of the camper because they locked it! It took what seemed like forever just for them to get there. But I was glad that Mom was there.

On the few days that she wasn't with us we went to the Amusment park where there were TONS of games and rides and all of that jazz...well my personal favorite were the bumper cars!!! Can you guess how many times I went on that thing!?!?! I went on it 28 times in a row!!! Of course I was with my brother so he went on it 28 times too! So yeah, I actually was so well known with the person running the bumper cars that he knew my name and he told me to go after certain people because of the certain football team that they liked. It was fun! WEll yeah, then after that we went out to eat at Friendly's (We call it Happy's) where they had an AWSOME deal...so yeah, then we mainly just hung around the camper...BUT we did go to the Gay dolphin! It's a little tradition that our family has...and it was made in the late 60's so know you know the meaning of the name. When we were there Austin decided that he wanted a hermit crab...as many animals as we have now Dad said yes. (We have 1 cat, 1 dog, 2 gueina pigs, 1 fish) and then later on when we were home I think we got more crabs...no wait...we were at the Eagle store...and then we got 3 more hurmit crabs!!! So now we have 1 dog, 1 cat, 2 guenia pigs, 1 fish, and 4 hermit crabs!!!! Yup...In all we have 9 pets! So yeah, our trip was great and we had a good time...hope you guys had a good summer! Bye!

Love,

Maddie
