We've been busy here. I finally feel like I can say life has returned to normal!
And we're finally getting glimpses of spring, a day here and there, or even a couple hours of sunshine are a welcome site!
We spent last year studying flying creatures (birds insects etc) and it consumed our whole life! We fell wholeheartedly in love with these creatures God has created, This year we are studying swimming creatures, but I admit our hearts still lie with the flying creatures! Maybe because there are so many just here in our backyard. Andrew has been so excited to find caterpillars in the backyard (at least 3 different kinds) as well as worms and insect larvae. And we are all enjoying the birds once again(except Daddy who complains about how much we spend on bird food LOL). Little Peter still outdoes me in knowing a new bird long before I figure out what kind it is. This year we had 3 new species come so far (a nuthatch, a creeper and flickers).
Some of our goldfinches (and a house finch): We have more Rufous hummingbirds this year than I can count! We had to put up a 3rd feeder because they are such demanding little birds!
And then I was recently reminded just how blessed we are to look out behind our house and see this site regularly. Not many people can say they see bald eagles regularly in their own neighborhood! I'm so thankful God brought us here to Washington!
