Christians should be living differently than non Christians.We should do everything possible to keep our light shining brightly in a dark world, on display for all to see. Part of the local church's job is to distinguish those who believe from those who don't- to show what it means to truly follow Christ. That is why a local church must maintain certain uniquely Christian practices given us by Jesus.

This calling is more than just listening to preaching on the radio, or chatting with Christian friends about Biblical things!
We need the ministry of others, especially pastors, to encourage us, to help us apply God's word to our lives and help us see our sins.We need others to overcome sin and grow in the way God has planned.
When the church is together to worship and hear God's word preached nourishment and encouragement occur that can happen no where else.
OOOH he touched on a point that is HEAVY on my heart and I have a hard time expressing without seeming judgmental! The reason why this weighs heavily on me because IT WAS ME for MANY years!
Many people claim to be Christians but aren't living a NEW life. They dont understand or have not been CHANGED by the gospel.They need to be told they can not claim a saving faith and still walk in darkness! Our assurance of salvation MUST include a changed life. Our confidence in heaven can not rest in a prayer we prayed once years ago or an emotional experience.If you do not live a life marked by love for others the Bible has no encouragement for you to think you are a Christian. NONE!
Joining a church wont save you. Its only the death of Christ that saves you. He alone is our righteousness. Bur He really is our righteousness, if we really love He who we have not seen, it will show itself by us loving those we do see.
If people did not notice when you became a Christian, maybe you are not truly Saved?
