Jun. 1, 2008 - More grilled goodness

*I'm so sorry that my blogs come in spurts! It must be annoying to try and keep up!

Tonight we had all new things for dinner but they were all so yummy so I wanted to share  the recipes!
First we had :

Garlicky Beef Kabobs
¼ cup Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons honey
2 teaspoons paprika
4 cloves minced garlic
¼ teaspoon salt
Mix together and marinate 1-2 pounds cubed beef. Put on skewers then grill.

Then we also had

Grilled potatoes
2 lbs potatoes cut into 4ths (or use small potatoes)
Boil for about 8 minutes until slightly tender. Drain and let cool enough to put on skewers.
Grill on medium until light brown.
In a saucepan heat ½ cup oil and add 3 cloves minced garlic.  Toss with potatoes and add fresh herbs of choice. (We used oregano, its the only thing in my garden yet)

Then we had "white broccoli" (cauliflower) that Andrew asked for at the grocery store this morning.

I  put the potatoes in water in my pot then set the cauliflower on top in the steamer basket to do both at once.

Then we normally toss our cauliflower with butter and salt, but this time I used Dulse instead of salt (Its a seaweed that has a very salty taste, but lots more minerals and nutritional value) and it was GREAT!It was our first time trying it so I was worried, but we were pleased!

Dessert was chocolate pudding, I dont know how to make it without a Vitamix though, so good luck figuring that one out!

VITAMIX Pudding:
2 cups steaming milk
¼ t salt
¼ c sugar
4 T flour

Speed #10 for 3 minutes then add
Room temp egg
¼ c chocolate chips

#5 for 1 minute then add
1 t vanilla
1 t butter

10 seconds then pour and chill
