Hi everybody, I have exciting news! I am moving my blog to Wordpress, I find this Homeschool Blogger thing such a nusiance. so yeah. if you want to see my new blog check out Chelonia Green so good bye from here forever!
G’d a y! My friend N.C.G is staying at my house! Two days ago, my friend N.C.G found a blue tongue. I was hanging out washing, and she said she would go check for eggs in the shed, she said “there is an egg over here near the door, I will just go see if there are any more eggs......... ahhhhhh! There is a bluetongue in here!” I lost it, and dropped everything and ran in, and saw a BEUAT BONZA gorgeous bluetongue, I picked her up, and she had egg yoke drooling from her mouth!!! Eeuuuwwww. Then I did not know what to do, I ran inside and said to Mum “hey, we have an unwanted egg thief” and I brought in the adorable Blue tongue .N.C.G and I, took her over to the neighbours, but they weren’t home, that is where this adorable girl came from. So we took her back around. We then decided (after we had taken out the eggs) to put her back in the chook shed, facing the gap under our fence, leading into the neighbours yard. But she did not go in there, but turned away and ran under the chook shed floor! I named her Laurel. I have not seen her since. To tell the difference between a female and male bluetongue, is by the head. Boys (typically!) have big heads, and skinny bodies, usually girls laugh when I tell them this! But as soon as I tell them what girl bluetongues look like, they stop laughing. Girl bluetongues have small heads, but BIG FAT BODY’S! That is not very funny!
Yesterday, we saw a snake! Cool! N.C.G & I were outside with our family s, anyway, we saw a snake suddenly, everyone else jumped back, but I stayed and nearly went forward. My first thought was very idiotic, ‘Grab the snake!” but luckily I did not! He was a pale sort of colour, with a small head, I think he was either a brown snake, or a dugite, he was not very big. Boy he was awesome, then he flew under the chook shed! I hope to see him again! Mum tried to make lots of vibrations to scare him away, snakes are deaf so you can sing and they won’t hear you. You know how in those countries how the snakes ‘dance’ to the music (I hate that, they pull their fangs out and then snakes never see freedom again, or if they do, they can’t survive with out their fangs) well people say ‘its the vibrations from the music’ but it is not, I mean, seriously, it is not that loud the music they play, it is actually the movement of the instrument. That is how they ‘dance’, because notice how the people playing the instrument always move!
Today at church, I stuck cicada shells on people’s backs!!! I did it to some people, but a girl it away! It was rather annoying!! I stuck some on about five people’s backs I think, or maybe 4. N.C.G went home today.
1. A seven metre croc (with lots and lots of space to keep him in)
2. My dear Nonama back

1. My snake (Cleopatra)
2. My dog (Danny)

2. Looked at photo albums
Two things you ate today.

2. a Delicious cake, the best one I have ever tasted.

1. The neighbor’s dogs
2. Mama (Swahili for Mum)
Two things you're doing tomorrow:
1. Church
2. gasbagging with friends at church
Two longest car rides you've been on:

Prince Caspian is the best movie, you should SSOOO see it, a while ago when I was writing about my fav movies, i forgot Prince Caspian! now I have decided that is my top favourite movie! I like the bit where Peter has to fight the bad guy, but I also can't handle very well when he stabs the guy in the stomach. Or the bit when the bad guy has blood trickling down his neck when Caspian breaks into his fathers bedroom. and I think it is really sad when they leave all there friends behind the gates and they all die, and they can't save them. my Favourite charecter is Lucy, but I don't like Susan very much (not the real person but the person in the book) because in the very last book Susan betrays Aslan and does not get into Narnia ever again. Thie bit where Aslan says (in the end of Prince Caspian) that Peter and Susan can't go back, so not exactly true, when they die they actualy get back into Narnia, though Susan does not. you have to read the books though! they are soo good! some of the things are the same as in the book, but some of them aren't.
I thought i would put this thing I found on my blog for readers who are interested in Bindi Irwin. I know Bindi is a big hit in the USA but not so much here in Australia.
you probably can’t read the words so here it is below.
Top Green Crusader 2008-Bindi Irwin OK!
Congratulations! What was the highlight of 2008 for you?
When we went to Alaska to do whale research on Humpback Whales. We're working with Oregon State University to prove to the international Whaling Commission that non-lethal research can be done on these magnificent creatures.
What does 2009 hold for you?
2009 is going to be a beaut, bonza year. I am very excited because I have a filming project in Africa, which is where we have a conservation program helping support Cheetahs. We are helping by providing tracking collars for the Cheetah's so they can be tracked and relocated if they ever get into a conflict with humans.
What was the biggest lesson you learned this year?
That my Daddy's important work must continue and I am inspired by all the support my family has received. I'm determined to never give up!
Steve Irwin Day, on November 15, was a huge success. We have many Wildlife Warrior friends who are helping to keep my daddy's dream alive.
Who's the Aussie star shining brightly for you right now?
The veronicas are my shining stars because they're lovely girls with great music as well as being ambassadors for Wildlife Warriors.
Have you made any New Year's resolutions?
To stop a small mining company from destroying my daddy's reserve in far north Queensland. It's 135,000 hectares; chock-a-block full of wildlife, including some species that are rare and vulnerable, like the Palm Cockatoo.
What's your favourite memory of 2008?
When we went to do crocodile and file snake research at the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve in August. I got to do school on the reserve for a month and my classroom was under a big tree overlooking the Wenlock River.
What's your message to the OK! Readers who voted for you?
I'd like to thanks everyone who voted for me so much, it means a lot. My daddy worked to change the world to make it a better place. If one man can make a difference, you can make a difference.
If you would like to help Bindi make her resolution come true, please got to www.savesstevesplace.com and sign the petition to save Steve's Place.
how was news years eve/ day? ours was great! we went swimming new years eve with some friends from our church. it was so much fun, I wouold dive to the bottom and look for fish! we saw heaps! then I cramped my leg, and I managed to release it, but it was still painful! and we had to walk around the bay (It was a little under a km walk) but I managed to ignore the pain, it was fun watching the fireworks! did any of you guys win the trip to meet Bindi Irwin? yep you could have picked up the Sunday Mail NewsPaper on Sunday, and you might have won. I did not enter.
G'day everyone! I hope you have had a beaut Christmas, or a beaut non Christmas if you don't celebrate it! To keep it basic, I will just say my fav things I got for Christmas. I have five fav things my MP3 music player, my Camera (a big surprise! I had no idea that ‘santa’ would give me that!) Prince Caspian (you just have to see it!) and a beautiful horse head and a horse trotting (thanks for those). I like Christmas, not just for the pressies, but for the food! I also like giving presents away too! For Christmas my Mum got 3 face clothes (pink, purple, blue) a purple hand towel, a mug with bears on it, a chocolate, a pair of crocs (or clogs, I mean the shoes with holes in them) and a white photo frame! She was happy with those!
Sadly, we can't go to this cool thing that a place had on, with Christmas lights and stuff, and we were going with our church!!!!!! I SSOOOO wish we could go!!!! !!!!!! But Mum wants to go to church tomorrow, and if she goes tonight, she might not feel well tomorrow, because she is sick at the moment. I so wish we could go!
There is a bit of good news though. Cleopatra should be shedding her skin soon, I looked at the ‘snake calendar’ as I call it (it has when I have fed my snake and when she last shed her skin etc) and it says she should be shedding soon, and I have noticed lately she is turning sort of grey and milky colour. So she skipped a feed today, I shall wait till Monday.
I wonder why the U.S.A people (who ever it is who makes the laws!) band making toys for kids at home. I reckon they just want to get the economy up and running, similar to what the people over here in the land down under are doing. The government guy (Kevin Rudd) reckons that if he gives money to everyone, then they will spend it and that will raise the economy, poor logic I say! I SSOOOOO hope the Aussie government don’t copy the Yankees! Boy that would be terrible, I love making stuff! I agree partly with Capitalism, but I also agree with Socialism, so I am a mixture!
I have done a lot of posts lately! More then I thought I would have time for! Oh, and you can add your self to the competition early if you want, but it does not start for a few more weeks yet!
Next year I plan on working really hard towards conservation! I have a few things planed! One is this book! And I hope by the end of next year, my book and other things will be a great success!
Well I have to go now, oh hang on. I tag my self! I decided to answer some of my tags!

Bye! Don’t forget! I LOVVE comments! So feel free to ask questions!
O.K I have a competition that is coming up in a few weeks, but this is just a warning, to STUDY UP ON ANIMALS!! WooHoo! Ok,ok, this is it here is a secret hint as to what I have been doing lately (except the past month, I have been so busy with Christmas and everything) but to keep it simple I am writing a book about.................. guess....................yep, your right ANIMALS!!!! Ok, ok, that may not sound exciting, but listen to this, no has ever read it yet, other then my Mum, and of course, me, the person who wins this compition gets to be the first Ever out side of my family to read this book, but not the whole book, for it would be too easy on you, and too hard on me, if you win and I justhand over this book that I spend lots of hard hours writing! You get the first chapter of the book, and then a bit of a preview with some facts, to give you an idea on what the WHOLE book is going to be like!
Ok, now you want to know how you can win this thing! Ok, I am going to pick an animal, and anyone who wants toenter the competition has to write an entry with facts about this one certain animal. The one who does the best entry, wins, and don’t worry about favouritism it does not matter if you know me or not.* It matters who’s is the best. So you all have to vote for an animal, and so you guys (I mean girls but you know) don’t all vote all different animals, this is what there is to pick from
. Snakes
. Koalas
. Whales
. Crocodiles
So if koalas for example gets the most votes, then everyone (wether you like koalas or not, and wether you wish to do the competition) has to do an entry about koalas, with at least five facts in it, and how you think we should help that animal. And you aren’t allowed to copy other peoples post on that animal, if you do, you are excluded from the competition. So yeah! Sounds fair? Good, now in a few weeks time I will announcewhen the competition is starting!
But I do hope lots of people will join, up to ten people can enter. Other wise it will be a tough decision for me to make! But I do hope the Wildlife Crazy Girl and RebeccaM and heaven and croctoria enter!
Oh and I forgot to add that fact in about the coke! I will say it now. This bloke from our church showed us this experiment as to all the chemicals that is in coke. If you put two/three Mentos in a bottel of coke, it shoots up into the air, sometimes it can go nearly 7 metres! As long as a large Croc! And then someone asked a question that I was wondering (the next bit is freaky!) if ‘you just drank coke, then had a Mentos, would it explode out of your mouth?’ Now wouldn’t that be scary! I have never drunk coke, and I was justthinking I would till I saw that experiment! It gives me the creeps! Could you imagine you were just talking to your friend, and your there ‘bla bla bla’ and you just a couple of gulps of coke then you opened a packet of mentos and chucked one or two in your mouth, then suddenly you are coughing and chocking then all this fizzy stuff shoots out in your friends face!!! Hahahaha! But boy, it would be freaky!
Well, bye for now!
Love
A.G
* you must comment on my blog to tell me if you have entered the competition, otherwise I won’t know, so you won’t be in it.

I know it has been such a long time since I last wrote. But with Christmas, I am so busy, I have no time to hop on the pc. Hopefully after Christmas, I will be getting back to every second day blog posts! Who likes my new template? I know the purple and blue don’t go together very well, but I plan on hopefully changing that! What about the adorable snake!! Oh, and thanks for helping me with my blog template! Oh, and I am so sorry Crocatoria! I have not had time to check out your blog, but I plan to after Christmas, so I do plan on adding you as a friend! I have been tagged twice! By two people W.C.G and RebeccaM!
O.K so here is the tag from Rebbeca.
1. Your Name?: Animal Girl
2. What does it mean? : ummmm, it means I am Totally WILD with ANIMALS.
3. Your birthday: Top secret!
4. Height: Guess!
5. Eye color: Who wants to know?
6. Do you like it?: yeah, pretty much.
7. Natural hair color: brown, and curly.
8. Do you like it?: yeah, pretty much, except the curls are SSOOO hard to brush, especially when you have a natural side fringe (bangs) like me!
9.Gender: Female
10. Race: White, though really I am tan!
11. Heritage: Irish, Scottish, English and…….. AUSSIE!
12. Do you like your heritage?: yeah pretty much, never really thought much about, I have never really been a big fan of Scotland though.
13. Where do you live?: With Animals! And in the great out doors!
14. Have you ever moved cities or countries?: yep, I lived in the USOA for a while there.
15. Your job: I have lots, I mean the ones I get paid for, but the one I don’t get paid for and I love is…………… Zoo Keeper!
16. Did you enjoy that tag? Yeah sort of, to many Questions though!
17. Who will you tag? Ummm, Smiley Girl and Crocotoria!
O.K here is the one from W.C.G
‘ neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. And ‘….. ok ok, something does not make sense here, this is from the Bible, and there is some sort of spelling mistake, I will see what the other closest book to me is, uuummmmm ok I got it
‘ Special Tasks: eggs should be collected twice daily in summer or shelf life will be reduced by high temperatures in the shed. As well, eggs in the nest encourage broodiness and lead to breakages. Keep shell grit in front of hens permanently to aid shell strength. Thin shells are exacerbated by high temperatures, the calciumcarbonate balance in the body being reduced by increased carbon dioxide loss resulting from the hen panting.’
There is a lot more then that, but it will take to long it is from the Grass Roots mag by a post posted by someone called ‘Meg Miller’. It was about looking after hens in summer time!
Well, I plan on putting some pictures on after. But probably not before Christmas. Well see ya!
Hi! I know it has been about a week since I last wrote, but life catches up so fast with me sometimes! Today we put the Christmas tree up! We normally put it up on the first of December, but Mum did not want to do it yesterday. We watched my favourite Christmas movie Polar Express, if you have not seen it you have GOT to see it! It is SSSOOOO awesome! I also like the Muppet Christmas Carol, it is really funny! I like a lot of the Muppet movies!
You can post in a comment if you want of what your fav movie is. Mine is probably………….. hmmmmm…… I really like Evan Almighty, that was hilarious, but I don’t think it is my fav, ummmmmmm……….. I really like the Black Beauty movie, but I think it is sad when Ginger dies, but I don’t think that is my fav…………………. I use to really like Spirit, but I don’t think that is my fav, I sort of like Get Smart Again (the old version), but I thought it was a bit crummy in some bits, ummmm, I don’t know, I think I like a mixture!
For those of you who have probably recently started reading my blog, would probably like to read some of the older entries! Like the turtle rescue, and the dog rescue (some are SSSOOOO boring looking back on them! Like the gardening ones! Though I will say, my garden is coming a long nicely)
Here I am tagging myself, about me, in fact, I just made these questions up!
Favourite Colour: Purple (two of my bedroom walls are purple! Yeah!)
Least Favourite Colour: PINK! Euww! Two of my walls are PINK! Oh dear!
Favourite Animal: Snakes, second Crocs (CROCS RULE!!! WooHoo!)
Least Favourite Animals: None!
Favourite Car: Hummer, also limos.
Least Fav Car: probably mini coopers.
Siblings: One Brother.
Friends:Lots, but I don’t always see them, some I have never physically met! But thanks to Skype!
Fav Zoo: I am going to Dubbo for the first time next term, I have heard it is the best, better the Australia Zoo, but we are probably going to that zoo later next year, maybe, we have other trips planned to other zoos.
Favourite Endangered Animal: the gorgeous most STUNNING, the Whales!
Thoughts on mining: Hate it, absolutely hate it. I am a realist and understand the so called ‘need’ for it, but a lot of the time they don’t find much, or the money they make from doing it, only goes on more land and machines. I live in a mining area, believe me, they ain’t pretty.
Yesterday Cleopatra had her tucker! And once again I missed seeing her eat! Only by 15 minutes! All four of our bantam hens are clucky, which bothers Mum cos they take up all the nests! But our gold chook and one of the brown one’s, lays in the straw (where the bale used to be, but Mum moved it now!) so they aren’t put off about it!
I was tagged by RebeccaM, and there are lots of books around me, so I don’t know which to pick, one is a maths book (which would not work) one is a WIRES book, which only had 45 pages, and one book does not appear to have numbered pages, so I will pick one close by… that book only had a photo on that page, so I will look for a different one…..ok, here it is
“about half-way he rested on an open hill-top and shared his meal with Narrups. The strength of the sun drove him forward to the shade of a myrtle forest but the air here was close and humid and nothing seemed alive between the ancient trunks of the trees. Even the clip of the pony’s hoofs was deadened by fallen leave as they hurried away from this queer, frightening place”
From a book by Nan Chauncy.
I had to pick the closest book nearby and go to page 56 and put in the 5th paragraph. And you can’t go to your fav book, the one closest to you, though I found it confusing with all these books around me and 3 book shelves in front of me!
The other day Jak came running over to me saying “quick come have a look at what I found! There is a cockroach skin on a tree!” It was so cute watching him getting excited! I went over to have a look, and it turned out, it was a cicada shell! So Mum explained about cicadas, so he know they are not cockroaches!
Another funny thing happened a few weeks ago. We were looking for stuff for a lawn mower, something to do with 4 stoke petrol. Anyway we were at Big W, and they only had 2 stroke! So whilst Mum was frustrated that they did not have any 4 stroke, Jak was looking at the stuff, then looks at Mum very seriously and simply and said “Mum, why don’t you just get two 2 stroke stuff? That would fix the problem”, at first Mum did not get it, and I whispered, “I think he means if we get two 2 stroke stuff, it will make four!”, then we laughed, but poor Jak did not know what was so funny! So we explained that 2 2 stroke would not fix the issue!
I LOVE playing with Cleopatra! She is SSOOOO cute! But when holding her (or when I am longing to) I always remember she ain't no cuddly pet. People reckon they would make a 'cool' pet. But I you have to be a commited owner, someone who loves and has a pasion for snakes, knowing wether or not you would be a commited owner, I guess, is pretty easy, not that I have ever had that problem because I have always loved snakes! So if you see hmmm, I will use Bindi Irwin as an example, if you see her holding a snake, and you think "cool, just cos she has a snake and is so cool i will get one too so I can be just like her", you can't really love snakes if you just want to be really cool, or you want to impress your friends. And also, snakes are costly to keep, so you can't just use your pocket money to buy one.
Today we got talking over internet with some people we know from the U.S.A! It was really cool! I showed them my snake (we have a web-cam) and I spent ages trying to catch our golden hen, I did not succeed, so I caught a brown hen instead, and I showed the brown hen to them instead, and I got Puskins and showed him aswell, and Danny!
I have to go now, I have an urgent feeling I want to go and play with our animals, they are so much fun!
From A.G
I plan to load some pics on later today, no promises
G'day everyone! This will just be a short entry 'cause I can't think of much to say. Danny is doing well, he loves it when I play with him! He does not 'fetch' he runs after his crocodile toy when I throw it, and then runs around the yard, and he LOVES it when I chase him and pretend to try and get it back!!! He thinks it is great fun! Our grown up chooks are all laying, they are the most tame. The chicks (who are growing up) are now more wild then ever, it could take hours to catch every one of them! Yesterday I only caught two out of five! It was SSOOOO hot, and I had nice pants on (they weren't my best ones but they were nice ones) and I can't remember what top I had on. Anyway, I had just cleaned out the duck pond, and I was filling it up, whilst I was filling it up I stood in the cool water, then I took my cap off and hung it on a tree branch, and got the hose and put water in my hand and ran it through my hair, not that my hair got really wet. Then I was so hot I got the hose and put it on spray and had a bit of a shower! When the duck pond was finally full, because the tap (or faucet) was at the other end of the yard, in fact, out the front, I had to run down so i did not waste water, but I had the hose on my self, so i could cool off whilst I ran! Then I caught some chicks (only two as I said earlier) and some hens and put them in the water (they were sweltering hot, they looked like they would fall to the ground and they had their wings out.) not that they appreciated it I might add, but I could tell afterwards that the ones that had let me catch them felt much better! And the ones that did not get to go in the pond got hosed! As well as me! I asked Mum to wet me with the hose, but she delibrately aimed for my hair!!!! ha, ha, ha!! But my hair was soaked through!!!!!! I was SSSOOO much cooler! And when I went in side I was in heaven, we had the air con on, as well as a fan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well you know how I said I had a lot of stuff to tell? Well, I will do a short version of all my stories now!
Starting with the oldest.
This day last week (on a Thursday in Australia) Mum bought me a really flashy new pink camera, the latest of its kind! WoW! I already have a digital camera, but this was even better! Well, I was all excited and flying on top of the world (I can get over excited with things!). But sadly, the camera did not work, so Mum will get me another one! WooHoo! I love all the new cameras!
the next one.....
On Sunday, (it was crazy), we were driving somewhere, and we saw all these people beside the road, on both sides, (like the Queen was coming or something) and suddenly, out in front of our car a little dog jumps........ on go the brakes!
I have to go now, I will finish the story soon!
The little dog runs back out to the middle of the road. Mum followed the dog all over the road with her hazard lights on! in the middle, driving the dog towards people waiting on the other side. Then, he turned around and headed the other way, narrowly missing a car. We swing 'round, and chase the dog, then he came running to the car, with his tail wagging, we were calling him, then just as it seemed e was about to jump in the car, he shot off down the middle of the road. Mum was great! (wether other people thought she was or not I don't know!) She stopped all the traffic from hitting the dog, I was finaly so put off that these people did not just run out on the road and rescue this dog, with Mums permision (and I did not wait for lectures) I jumped out of the car, I called the dog but he woud not come, I ran to the foot path, (I don't know what the people at the side of the road thought, a crazy girl running after a dog, and her mum who was a crazy driver trying to save this dog!) Mum had dissapered in her car, so I was running up the street, after this dog who was on the middle on the road then he headed straight at me, I saw in his eyes the fear he had, but then he shot down the other way (I was the only one up that end of the street that was trying to get the dog) where other people were, suddenly, my heart stopped, as I was in the middle of this small street that lead on to this main road where the chase was on, this stupid, ingnorent, idiot flew in his car straight at the dog, the dog was running for his life, people on the side of the road were trying to stop this guy, I was running as fast as my legs and lungs would carry me, then, the dog leapt to the side, JUST missing the tire, and the idiot shot off. Mum suddenly came in sight again able to stop the traffic, from hitting the dog, Mum said later "people might not stop for a dog, but they will at least stop for a car", suddenly Mum pulled up beside the road and I jumped in, then we pulled up only 5 seconds after at someones property with tall grass which came up to around my waist, I leapt out, as well as Mum and Jak, only one other young guy was game enough to leap through the tall grass as well as me, we had the dog conered, then the dog tried to run away, the guy leapt in front, and the dog shot into his arms, he later said "it was like he knew me, the way he leapt into my arms". I was so happy this dog was safe!!!!! There was a lot of debating as to who would take the dog where! And no one considered what the other had done! Someone had called the Police, the pound (which luckily had not answered) and we offered to take him to the RSPCA, to hopefully take him to his owner! So after cancelling the Police coming, we took the dog to the RSPCA. And hopefully he will be given back to his owner! I don't like the RSPCA, but they are better then the pound. The guy who caught the dog, wanted to keep him, but someone else said no. I know what it is like to have an animal come straight at you like you were their only hope, and you just want to keep him.
I would also like to say this, I know what I wrote earlier about me on the road and Mums crazy driving and all that, I don't want ANYONE to think that my Mum put me in any danger what so ever, she would never put me in danger, and though I ran accross the road (the bit where 'my heart stopped') I know that was dangerous, but that was my fault for putting my self in danger.
G'day everybody! I am an Aussie girl known as 'A.G'. I am 11 years old. I have had many other blogs and some web-sites, and I am doing my own wildlife show! I am 'animal crazy' and so that is why my nick name is Animal Girl (A.G). I have one dog (possibly two in the future) two cats, 4 guinea pigs, five chooks (possibly more in the future) two ducks, and we have cows that live next door and behind us!
I hope that in the future all wild animals, native and foreign, will have a secure future, and that we will NEVER have to say bye to the dear beauties of the ocean, Whales.
