Tuition Bewilderment

Oct. 4, 2006 - Another good day in the can.

I invented a card system to help us with our school work.  Each day the kids pull out their card for the day, and complete all the tasks upon it.  Once the assigned work on the card has been completed, the school work is over for the day.  This is working the best, by far, of any of the other schemes I've devised over the course of four years.  Here's a shot of what my cards look like:

Also the card gets decorated with a sticker when they're all done!  Stickers are motivating.

Oct. 5, 2006 - Hello there!

My computer wouldn't let me see your card but it sounds like a great idea. I need a better system, or rather, a system at all. We do have a bit of a schedule but having it written down would make it more self-sufficient for the kids. I have 3 kids, 11, 8 and 5, and maybe I'll give this a try. Thanks! Hope you have a really nice Thanksgiving!

Thanks for the comment. It's good to hear from you. With three kids, it sounds like you're busy just like me. I had no schedule at all until I decided I needed to have everything written down beforehand. This way the kids see all that they have to do today, plus it has now become finite in their heads - as opposed to this endless list of what mom brings to them to do. The stickers are motivating for them, too. Don't know why...but they really, really like them. One sticker = one day's work done. Thanks for the happy Thanksgiving wish. Happy weekend to you - and I hope your own Thanksgiving in November is truly wonderful.
