Stories from Anissa's attic
| The contents of my attic have been spewed forth. I don't know what came over me today. I am feeling the need to glean the stuff in my house. Where did all this 'junk' come from anyway? I did find some nice crystal wedding gifts that are still wrapped up safe and sound as they have been for 14 years! I think I will serve jello or something in them sometime. I also found a letter my grandma wrote me in 1987. Of course I had to sit down on the attic floor and read this. I enjoyed reading all of the news she included. I wish my kids could have known grandma... Also in the attic was a foot massager. I think I used this 2 times. My kids would come running during my soak and they would all want to dip their tired, worn out little toes in the warm water also. Maybe I should hang on to this item? There are also suitcases from every luggage company imaginable. Our parents have given us their cast offs over the years. Never mind that we never go anywhere, but what am I to do with a dozen suitcases of different hues? One of the boxes of clothing had sunflower seeds in it. I think a chipmunk stored his booty in there and then forgot about it. Maybe my attic is some sort of matrix....I mean things that go in there are forgotten for many years... Oh yes I also have my crafty intentions corner. This is where my great ideas get stored until later...Let's not even talk about the Christmas corner. Oh my. One of my favorite attic items is the large dog crate that we purchased for our puppy (6 yrs ago). She slept in it about 1 week and there it has sat ever since. It was expensive and it is big and bulky and yet we still keep it, why? My human little baby is 5 but I still have a crib, a cradle, and a play pen. The play pen came in handy once when a friend brought a baby over. Do I have the strength to get rid of this stuff? What do you have in your attic? My brother was lamenting once the lack of storage space in his home. I wish I didn't have so much. The more space there is, the more you fill it up with things that you absolutely do not need. Have a great day...Thanks for visiting. |

When we moved into this house, my father-in-law built these cabinets along the basement wall, with 10 full size closet doors, floor to ceiling, with deep wooden shelving.
No matter how many times I've purged and had a sale, they fill back up.
it's hopeless.
