A Day in My Life
| What a day we had yesterday. First we tried to find something to eat for breakfast and lunch. With Jeff home for all meals the food is running dangerously low. Then we all headed to the recycling center with an assortment of old bikes, computers, and a TV. We actually made $21 on this stuff. Don't worry, we didn't keep it for long. Jeff is heading up VBS this year which of course means the whole family is involved. He is not purchasing a prepared VBS, oh no, he is writing his own. It will be taking place in an old mining cave. Black lights and even a waterfall from the carport will enhance the illusion. Anyways, we need a 2 person horse costume for the mining town's trading post (the kids will be hunting for gold to trade for stuff). So off we head to the costume shop in the town next to us. As we pulled in I knew we were in trouble...they were having a 'garage sale'. Costumes and accessories were all over..and cheap! So we now have revolutionary war era costumes, pirate costumes, hats, even an indian wig. They are really cool looking. We are studying early American History next year so I was pretty excited. We spent a lot of time perusing the racks until my 7 yr old (going on 15) announced that his blood sugar was getting low. So we make our purchases and head to a pizza place. Then we rush home to get ready for yet another bball game. Actually 2 of the boys were playing. We were at the fields until 9:30 pm! At home the showers began. Two of the pirates announced that pirates did not take showers. I won that battle. Well, I have to sign off. There is an assortment of pirates and patriots milling about wanting breakfast. I, being the Proverbs wife that I am, have breakfast well under control. Oh wait. I don't have any cereal, eggs, muffins, etc...I guess we'll improvise. Have a great day in the Lord! |
