Do you hear that sound? It is our money being sucked out of the window. Let's recap recent events. First, a sweet neighbor called the health dept to say our septic tank was seeping. Then health dept comes and says it may be $15,000 to fix. Then we hire various companies to do various nasty work and decide that drainage tiles are damaged and new pipes need to be laid. Health dept is satisfied and goes away. The backhoe shows up yesterday. Nowhere near $15,000, but still a chunk of change. The only thing I am enjoying about this is the fact that the backhoe is in the sweet neighbor's yard because that is where the trouble lies.
During aforementioned episode, my washing machine breaks down and a few weeks later my dryer goes out.
During aforementioned episode, we hire men to replace the kitchen counter due to our 60 year old-leaking -from-everywhere, kitchen sink.
Before the two aforementioned episodes, we buy a laptop.
Thankfully between episodes #2 & #3, the Lord providesJeff with a part time teaching job at a local university. This is good because I did not want to be a Walmart greeter (no offense to you greeters. This is a very honorable job).
So now you know what was on my mind when I woke up this morning. I thought Jeff was worrying over the money because he was already out of bed when I woke up (not usual). I was praying for him and for God to forgive our messing up the budget, again. I get up and go to Jeff in order to encourage him. I was feeling all sorry for Him and ready to console. I quietly approach to ask if he is worried. He says he is - about VBS!!! (remember, he is writing this year's program). So much for my knowing my husband so well...
