me and my guys

• Sep. 19, 2007 - Take two aspirin and blog in the morning...

Sorry about not blogging much in the past week.  I really don't know what has kept me so busy.  We have soccer just about every night now and that keeps me hopping.  My head has been hurting a lot this week.  Those of you who live in the north understand what the change in season does to a body.  First of all, you wake up not having a clue which clothes to put on for the day.  You start out shivering but are sweating by lunch time.  Then you have the insect wars beginning.  Every bee, ladybug, and mosquito is looking for a last meal and a warm place to stay (aka your house).   Finally, and most disturbing, is the sinus headache from which, I think ,1 in every 3 persons in Ohio suffers.  Now, this data is based only on my observations and absolutely no scientific study.  Actually, now that I reflect a bit, the most disturbing part of autumn is the amount of sporting events that my men insist must be watched, heard, or read about because "this is an important game".  I could live my days blissfully unaware of football stats or pennant races, however, I live in a testosterone charged home.

On a happy note - Jeff got through his oral defense for his Phd and has only some final steps to take before he gets his doctorate.  It was a rough day for him but he made it!  I am so happy for him, and for me.  This has been a long process.  For a long time now, I have had to do double duty with the boys so he could either go to classes and then later, research and write his dissertation.  Maybe someday he will be one of your child's professors.  He has so much insight into  the teaching process, creativity, and the normal development of esp boys.  I am forever asking him if such and such is 'normal'.  I keep telling him that he should start his own ques/ans blog for all of the hs moms out there.  Maybe when he has the degree in hand he will do just that.

If you have time, go check out sovalcal 's site.  She is hosting weblink Wednesday and there are some great websites out there!  I appreciate this service she is doing for us.  The boys and I have been enjoying http://www9.nationalgeographic.com/ngm/wildcamafrica/index.html , which we 'found' on someone's weblink Wednesday.  It gives live video from an Africa animal reserve!  It is really neat.

I will try to be a better blogger this week - if the sinuses allow...

Anissa

Just so you know, I tried to add links and they won't work right - sorry.  I did everything that Tammy told me to do.  I am going to give up soon if I don't have some success here...

Hurray! You're back!!! Missed you. Glad to hear everything is alright. It's so funny you mentioned bees, bugs and everything else this season. In CA, we are also having that trouble! In fact, my son has been stung two times by a bee last week and me once! Never has that happened!!! Hmmmm. Climate change. It is raining today :) after such a HOT summer, we are welcoming the rain.

Have a great week. Be sure to add that terrific link to my weblink Wednesday.

And I thought maybe you all were dead. Or your laptop had died! Oh my. It is only soccer keeping you busy! And what is this business about dissertations and what not! PUH-LEESE. Seriously, my people say that Friday night is an option. Let me know if you want to pow-wow then. Glad you are getting some links to work. I will go over the whole picture process again. I think once you do it in the daylight and not right before PND sets in, you will be good to go. For Pete's sake you made it through college. YOU CAN DO IT!!! See ya later-really, not hypothetically. I totally understand about the putting on warm clothes in the morning and then taking them off in the afternoon. People were staring at me strangely yesterday while we were at the library b/c it was in the high 80's and I had a long sleeve shirt on with jeans. They probably thought I was out of my mind. (shhhhh.....I'm very close. LOL) We deal with the sinus headaches too. We still have the link address, so all didn't fail. Thanks for sharing. Tell hubby congrats, and we will look forward to your harrassing, I mean encouraging him to start that helpful blog. Hee Hee.

Blessings,
Lori

It's good to hear you are back. I'm a sports fan, so I do like this time of year. But being in Idaho, I understand what else you were talking about. I have been coughing for no reason the past couple of days. My thought just gets itchy. And yes, we start out with sweats on then end up with shorts on by the end of the day. Ah, the joys of living in the mountains. ;)

Boy do I know what you mean about the weather! Here in CT it is the same way. My sinuses have been killing me for two weeks, but even worse are the spiders looking for a warm home....big ones!

Hey,

Where in Ohio are you??? I live in Ohio too...I know all about our crazy weather and the aches and pains that come with it...as a matter of fact...my daughter has one of those nasty sore throats right now, from the weather changes I guess. Anyway...we live in Akron...very near Akron University...can't wait to find out where you are...
Hope you are feeling better!

Oh boy, sinuses... we live in KY and it has been so dry here this year that everyone has been walking around with stuffy noses and red eyes. Gotta love all that pollen flying around in the air! Hope you feel better soon.

Hi,
Directionally challenged? I have a girlfriend like that. It's one of those funny / not / funny / not things, depending on the incident. Are any of your kids at the age yet where they have "away" games? I hear you on the season. I still dress light, as I don't mind feeling a little chilly. It probably looks a little out of place on those cold mornings, but I'm good the rest of the day!
I get that stuff from people who send it to me. A lot of it from Christine's computer teacher. But he's moved away, so my source seems to have dried up! Aughghg! There must be sites out there.....But I don't know where.
