• Dec. 11, 2007 - Blessed are the Peacemakers...

I just finished reading today's newspaper.  One of the stories concerned the shootings in Colorado over the weekend.  The story revealed that the shooter was a homeschool grad from a very religious home.  Like these two facts shed some light on why he hated Christians.  Why not report the school experience and family religious views of all criminals?  Why just homeschoolers and Christians?  I have a feeling that it is with a bit of glee that this was reported.   Before we all get too upset over this reporting, I have also read news reported from homeschoolers seeming to relish some new failure in the public schools.  We need to work to stop the feelings of mistrust and competition between homeschoolers and everyone else.   I really don't know if anyone else senses this animosity that exists even among believers.  Remember to say a prayer today for the young man's family and for the victims' families.  This will be a holiday season that will be unbearable without the peace of God.

Yes, this is true. We closed our ISP program at our church because of this competition between ps/hs.

Well, I was just wanting to pass by real quick while I'm on vacation for the day from blogging. lol. Wanted to remind everyone that tomorrow is another round of Weblink Wednesday if you want to share. It is Holiday themed, but your link doesn't have to be about the holiday.

Hope you had a great day.

Here is a fact the media seems to fail to report.
This young man had only been homeschooled for the last 3 years of his education because he was THROWN OUT of public school. So the question that begs to be asked is, "How could 3 years of homeschooling really affect what he learned in 10 years of public schooling?"

And I know what you mean about news regarding public school performance. While it only goes to show what a good desicion we made to homeschool, my heart breaks for the poor children languishing away in an institution.

I didn't know about this. Thank you for sharing. And then I heard about another shooting in Las Vegas last night! It is an epidemic! No one is immune. Like Corrie ten Boom says, "The only safe place to be is in the center of God's will."

Yeah, he doesn't look that happy does he? He is such a good sport though.

This story is so sad. I hate that we have yet another battle to fight and I feel so bad for his family. Very sad.

Thanks for stopping by...

Hi, Anissa,

Thanks for reminding us not to rejoice in any evil, regardless of the source!

Thanks also for stopping by and for your kind words.

Warmly,

Well said. There is quite a bit of competition which in my opinion is unnecessary.

I hadn't heard about the shooting. I stopped watching the news about a year ago for that very reason. That is a terrible thing for all involved.
