Jun. 5, 2009 Fruit of your labour
We just recently returned from a homeschooling convention in Florida and were pleasantly surprised to find that our little garden had grown lots in our absence. I don't know what it is, but there is something special in God's divine 'watering system' (aka rain ) Well, this is what we found when we returned:
 surprise gardner
of all the crops to yield first, it had to be okra, my least favourite
 gardening lesson 101
 Our first sunflower - woohoo!!
This just serves as a reminder to me that if we do not lose heart or faint, like scripture says, 'we shall reap' So just a word of encouragement, when things seem impossible to bear, keep pressing on (especially with our kids) we will see the fruit of our labor, maybe not right away but in God's timing the fruit will come forth. Stay strong and keep keeping on. See you later at canadagirl

Feb. 14, 2009 Happy Valentine
For some, Valentine is a challenging time. Those who have no 'significant other' may sometimes feel unloved or not appreciated but I just wanted to encourage you, whether you have someone or not - GOD IS LOVE!!! and His love is unconditional and exists eternally, not just one time a year. In fact, He loves us sooo much He sent His only Son, Jesus to die for us.(John 3:16). So be encouraged, God loves you!!! and THAT's what matters most.

Dec. 15, 2008 Time to smell the roses
It's been a while since I had time to just sit. Take a deep breath and relax! Life, especially around this time of the year can become overwhelming. But in all the hustle and bustle, we MUST take time to pause or stop and get proper rest. If we don't our bodies will remind us
Besides, planning birthday parties and decorating for the holidays, I had a chance to do some more crocheting. It is rather relaxing. Well by the end of the day, I had done a chenille cloche and I must say, I was rather impressed.
My hubby said he wants one next . Big thanks to my crochet guru, Teri for the yarn. I loved it!! Until next time, find time to stop and smell the roses or crochet a hat - whatever comes first! check out Canadagirl for more.

Nov. 12, 2008 Time for Renewal
There comes a time in everyone's life when we need to step away from our life routines and be refreshed, especially as women. Well that is exactly what I did over this past weekend.
 Praise Team
The theme was 'A Renewed Spirit, Mind and Body'. We talked about who we are in Christ, our calling, connecting with God first and with others. Also coming to terms with where we are in life and dealt with some of the battles we face as Christian women such as being faithful in personal devotions and Bible study. We also saw how our bodies are affected when we allow stress to go unchecked!
Well it wasn't All 'spiritual' . We had our own Bahamian olympics and had to select activities do portray as a group and only 30 minutes to prepare. Our group got to perform junkanoo , a Bahamian festival held during the Christmas.
 #1 Team - celebration!!
As you can see, we had a grand time. The young and not so young joined in a time of celebration. My team won, of course .
All in all, it was a wonderful time of refreshing. Just to be reminded that I'm a princess because my Father is the King of kings!! and He loves me!! He loves you too!!
Until next time - take some time to come apart. Jesus did!

Well time changed on Sunday and I was still running late. I guess, I took it for granted that I had an 'extra' hour in the morning. I was busy doing some last minute cleaning up since I had company coming over for dinner. One good thing about having company is it gets the 'cleaning lady' in me fired up
On a serious note though, isn't it comforting to know that everything else around us may change, BUT GOD remains constant. |

Oct. 26, 2008 Are you an island?
| Today I was reminded that, 'no man is an island.' We had several persons share testimonies of hard times they went through and they all concluded, without the help they received, they didn't know how they would have made it. Listen, DO NOT let pride keep you from seeking help! Well be encouraged, whatever you are going through, you don't have to do it alone. |
