Little Homeschool on the Prairie

New Member to the Family

We acquired a goat on Friday and she is a cutie.  She is very shy right now and I hope she comes around to us.  We saved her life actually, she was going to be someone's dinner.   Now Aaron has his animal to take care of.  We are still looking for a Jersey calf to raise up.

Below are a few pictures of what God has blessed us with:

Ben and one of his Jersey Giant chicks

Our new goat with no name - I like Daisy

Our new farmhouse!

My 2400 sq Ft veggie garden.  It really looks better than this, it didn't photograph well

One of our barns.  This is the original one made of wood.

We are loving it here and getting use to a schedule.  It is difficult to choose a new church, but we are taking our time in finding a new church home.  Even though we are in a pretty remote area, we are blessed with many options. I was hoping to find a church that has AWANA for older children, but that doesn't seem to be the case around here.  I probably will have to drop that idea and the boys are disappointed in that part, although they said it would be okay if our new church doesn't offer it.  Maybe this is what the Lord may want us to do?  Start a Trek AWANA?  I guess we'll see!

Your new place is lovely. We move in 3 days. Our kids want to get chicks. I've never taken care of anything like that. It will definately be a learning experience!

I saw your comment on a friend's blog and came on over to check out your blog. Don't you just love country living and your barn is incredible! Ours are the more modern ones (steel). So glad you've got chickens...we will have them as soon as we get a coop built. We had a couple of goats but gave them to a friend because they kept getting out of their pen. It's always work here but it's my kinda work :-).

About Me

God has blessed me with being able to homeschool my two boys. I would like to share what we do. We use the Weaver with an occassional bunny trail added in. We've also moved to a small farm so this has been an adventure for us. I"ve also been blessed with my husband of 14 years. We also have an almost 20 year old daughter who is on the edge of our nest!
