Plate Spinning.....

Have you ever seen one of those circus acts where the guy runs back and forth across the stage as he spins  plates set up on a skinny stick ... it is amazing how many they get going and you root them on = more more more - until finally they all come crashing down!!

That was our life a few weeks ago... after such a nice restful summer (albiet mandatory rest) Autumn rolled in and we were off and running... it seemed as if we were making up for lost time...

School started and my goal: Stay on Schedule... well... before we knew it the plates started spinning... Co-ops and extra classes, Piano and Boxing, Field Trips and Mom's meetings, Church.. Drama team and Childrens Worship Team... can you help here, we need you here too...and don't forget...The Christmas Production too... I had committed to teaching and  our business started taking off in a huge way and that meant conferences and expos and then there was the usual stuff still to do...trips to the vet, dentist and chiroprator...emails and chat and lest not forget blogging...oops forgot to mention the important ones... family, school, home... Jesus... ( seems they were wobbling barely hanging on...)

and then it happened....

CRASH!!!!!!!!!!!!

The exhaustion began to set in, my endurance began to wain... my longing for a morning in the garden with My Jesus and the Morning Glories.... one by one the plates began to fall... and I let them... I even began taking them off my self... We cancelled some classes, backed out of performances and said no to commitments for the sake of our family...

Sigh... It took a trusted friend to compare my schedule to spinning plates for me to realize how much I was trying to do... my body gave out and I found myself exhausted wondering if I had mono, seriously... it was all I could do to stay awake while spinning our days away...

I'm still spinning plates, we all do... only I can manage the few I have now and when one comes up inexpected, I can spin it too...

I am so thankful that God put me in time out this summer, it gave me the opportunity to treasure rest...

My plates are full... God, Family, Home and School and our Business...

Priorities in balance once again.... ahhhhhhhhhh

You do that often don't you. I think we are so similar with over booking ourselves. I am glad you are taking a break and get well. Remember this before you say YES again. Thanks for the Teen Challenge information, I will mention this to Ryan when I talk to him. It will be a while before he goes to his court for sentancing. It is no fun to go through this. God has helped me with friends like you, thanks. Have a wonderful day.

Hubby's home finally although I am not holding my breath. So I have a minute to pop on here - not to blog but to catch up. As usual you express yourself very well. Glad to read things are getting to a pace you can keep up with. I think life always has us alittle off balance - but we do tend to help it along & make it really crazy by doing WAY to much. I like being 40 for this reason - I feel much less driven by what others think I "should" do & much more comfortable with doing what is important to my family & God.

Stay the course :)

Love ya sistah chick - Theresa

Keep balanced!!

Keep balanced with all those plates!! (Your friend must've given you good insight.)

Great "seeing" you.

Blessings, Beckie :o)

You've Been Tagged - Only if you want!

I hope you don't see this as another plate but if you'd like to do this tag, here it is: Think about your homeschool resources and name the following:

1) One homeschooling book you have enjoyed.
2) One resource you wouldn't be without.
3) One resource you wish you had never bought.
4) One resource you enjoyed last year.
5) One resource you will be using next year.
6) One resource you would like to buy.
7) One resource you wish existed.
8) One homeschooling catalog you enjoy reading.
9) One homeschooling website you use regularly.

I'm sorry things have been so crazy. Glad the Lord lead you to take those plates off. Funny, my son just wrote a song about Mom's crashing plates in the kitchen. Just call me slippery fingers! Anyway, take care and if you do the tag, feel free to tag 5 others, but ONLY if you feel like it! Have a good weekend!

Kate
