Teacher accused of molesting students in two countries

Former Urbana grade school teacher Jon White, accused of molesting students in Urbana since 2005, was arrested Tuesday on new charges filed by McLean County authorities.

I just can't stand it when I read articles like this. You know most sex offenders cannot be rehabilitated. Most will repeat the offences. This is what gets me. Here is a man who has a history of child sexual abuse and yet they put him right back into a school system with children!!! DUH! I wonder what liberal was behind that idea!

Unfortunately, this is going on all over the country. Not just in our schools but in our neighborhoods as well. I'll have to get the web-site but there is a web-site that is specifically for locating any sex offenders in your neighborhood or town. There are about 10 in my small town and one lives down the road right near a neighborhood full of children.

I am not advocating a "witch hunt" or anything but some common sense. Letting a person with this type of history live near or work in neighborhoods or facilities with children is outrageous!

This is a question I have been asked several times since I began posting these articles. My reason is simple- I am posting these articles in one group so we can be forced to recognize that yes, this is happening. This is happening at an alarming rate. Notice how many articles are posted per day? I am NOT saying if you send your child to public school he will be shot, sexually abused, or any other manner of terrible experience. What I am saying is that there is certainly the risk of this happening. It is time we all began to admit this IS happening. When I began this blog I, like many Americans, was focused on school violence. While school violence is a major problem it is apparent that sexual abuse by teachers is an even bigger problem. Why aren't we discussing this issue? I think it is too hard. No one wants to admit it is happening at an alarming rate. But, it does exist... whether we want to admit it or not. ************************ Something to think about, if there were this many cases of abuse from homeschooling parents each day do you really think homeschooling would be legal?
