Mar. 27, 2007 - A Real Artist?

Above is my entry I blogged about recently (as it hung at the Wyoming Library last month) for the Look 2007 Juried Art Show at Gallery Lambton.
Kristina pulled a 'Ryan Seacrest' on me today that went kind of like this. "The gallery called today about the Look Show. Sorry, but we'll have to go see the show now... because you got accepted!" She did have me going there for a minute.
I am very pleased to be accepted. While not everything that is accepted suits my taste, the Look Show is well known and respected in the local art scene. As a bonus, in addition to having something to add to my art resume, I get paid a small sum for being in the show which can offset some material/framing costs.
Maybe this can jumpstart my Van Gogh-like career. Wait... no. He had to go mental, cut off his ear and die to become famous. I would prefer a much more Robert Bateman-like approach, where he just got so busy moonlighting as an artist that he didn't have time to teach highschool anymore.

he's not a blogless hippy. He's now poprocksandcoke, but I pretend I don't know him because he blogs about scary bands, some of which he is only allowed to listen to one song of (sorry, that was a hideous sentence but at least I logged in).

I just hope that you don't get as busy as Robert Bateman that you don't have time to teach adorable homeschooled children anymore... I'm feelin' ya Dawg!
