We have made some great lapbooks, history notebook pages and transparency maps that I will photograph and post soon(ish) and we took a trip to the MIlitary Museum and I will post pics and some of the notes the kiddos took. For now be satisfied with another link... http://www.notebookingpages.com/ and more specifically... Notebooking pages for Tapestry of Grace Have fun! |

Apparently, the original migraine and the ensuing neck pain were related but I am all healed up and raring to go! My list of things that need to be done before we get back into a full schoolday schedule is as follows: [/] finish the bedroom switch (almost done) Not a lot of progress but we are getting there! At the moment, I am concentrating on my 14 year-old son's schooling while the other kids are doing individual unit studies. This is how we are easing into a full school day. Mr James (14) is using: So today the plan is to get the room switch done and start organizing the school books. I am not posting next week's schedule because we are not doing ToG at the moment. I do have some great links for you though! If you have not seen ToG before you can try it free here: Here are great free resources for homeschoolers including printables for Apologia Science: http://donnayoung.org/index.htm Lapbooking or notebooking using ToG or Apologia? Well, that's all for now, the baby is crying! |

I have injured my neck. It makes it a little difficult to work at the puter. I am saving all my time at the comp to check and return my emails but I will be back... I am on the mend! |

Okay, to be honest we just aren't doing any structured schoolwork to write about. I am currently in the middle of organizing and unpacking our school room (yes I am aware that I moved in in June) Right after we moved in here I became quite ill culminating in surgery. After recovering from surgery we faced a series of family crises including our oldest daughter moving out to live with her boyfriend and his cousin. This week we are focusing on taking our family back. God is moving in our lives and we are finally listening to him! Stay tuned!!! |

A new house means new routines, new schedules and new systems along with the new neighbours and other obvious new things. For me, it also means no sleep. I am not sure why but when I move into a new place I don't sleep well which usually means that I get my days and nights switched around for awhile. My sweet husband tries to be understanding but being the type who falls asleep even BEFORE his head hits that pillow he doesn't actually 'get' that I can't sleep. So here I sit at 7AM. I haven't slept yet and I am determined to get through this day and switch myself back around to a more socially acceptable lifestyle. Society dictates that unless you are in a rock band you are supposed to sleep at night and be relatively awake during the day. SO, being the kind of person who considers the dictates of our culture to be of utmost importance, I will make myself get through... at least until naptime! Bring on the JAVA!!! |

Okay okay I haven't been blogging at all.... but it isn't my fault! I have nothing to say because I haven't been doing any schoolwork with the kids... HA Of course THAT is my fault but I will cop out and blame the move! hehehe Okay so I am not very organized right now. Maybe I need the help of an "Almost Always Organized Mom" **WARNING** shameless plug coming... Go to my VERY close personal IRL friend's website and enter her contest... it's easy, it's free and she is REALLY cute. |

I am addicted to facebook and have not spent nearly enough time blogging. I will update more once we are moved and settled in. For now I have a picture and a link...

I found this great link to some fun online logic games. I can only vouch for the free games but they are acceptable IMO other than the tastelessness (is that a real word) of the missionaries and cannibals game. Even that one is amusing and not scary AT ALL! Enjoy, Ramona |

4,5,6,7,8... 8 little chickies... HAHAHA WOOHOO!! Thank you Sheila and thank you for commenting. I really enjoyed my (brief) time on your blog. So here are our very adorable 2 week old chicks. Rocky is going to be building a chicken tractor with his dad for them as soon as we get out to the new homestead! |

Because I stayed home last night with a migraine my bleeding heart son Rocky brought home eight 2 week old chicks. Apparently one of the other youth leaders brough them as an illustration for the offering exhortation. Does make you think... we find it so hard to give ten percent of our income but how much harder would it be to kill and offer a living animal to the Lord (yes I know they are different kinds of offerings) Anyway, long story short my loving son found out that this chicks would not be able to go back to the flock and would have to be destroyed and brought them home knowing that his bleeding heart Momma would not turn them away. I tried to post pics of them (they are cute) but I can't figure it out. Any one willing to help???? Speaking of anyone... I know you are out there and some of you have let me know IRL that you have been reading... NOW COMMENT ALREADY!!!! Also some of the children have started their own blogs (some of them haven't posted yet) so go check them out... and the Princess That is all for now, at least until I can figure out how to post pics... We have found an acreage and all my BIG SCHOOL PLANS have to be put on hold so we can start moving in in the next two weeks!!! I am VERY VERY excited... so today is going to be spent PACKING not organizing the school room! AND... another one of the many pluses about this place is that it is owned by a homeschooling family and so everywhere that you turn there is more and more storage for BOOKS!!! I am so excited I can hardly sit still! and yet here I am sitting stil while there is work to be done...

My plan for this week is to get organized. We are moving August 1st and my school room/dungeon is in desperate need of MUCH decluttering/organizing/packing... SO, in other words for this week I actually PLAN to not do school work except for phonics with my still learning readers Belle,5 and Little Man,7 (names have been changed to protect their identity...LOL)

This is my new system for keeping track of our homeschool plans/schedules and also to hold myself accountable in what we do each day. I hope that in addition to helping us stay on track in our own homeschool journey we will be able to bless others. Especially those who are now or are planning/thinking about using ToG (Tapestry of Grace) blessings, Ramona |
